Can you spot the real threat to national security?

Let’s see... there’s this guy.

Turns out Bush could have nailed him years ago.

According to the CIA field commander at Tora Bora, U.S. intelligence absolutely knew that Osama Bin Laden was not only present, but virtually trapped

All the CIA and Special Forces guys needed was additional conventional support to cut off his escape, and Bin Laden would have been arrested.

This was in December of 2001.

But Bush and Rumsfeld never sent the additional troops.

And then there’s this woman.

Cindy Sheehan is the mother of Casey Sheehan, a U.S. soldier killed in Iraq.

She’s holed up just down the road from Bush’s ranch in Crawford. She’s unarmed, nonviolent, and carrying little but questions. She simply agrees with the 61% of Americans who disapprove of Bush’s handling of the war. All she’s doing is demanding accountability from her elected president.

Ms. Sheehan is receiving a steady series of hassles and threats of arrest on constantly-changing terms.

Curious set of priorities, this.

For a man who talks so much about democracy and freedom, he certainly makes time for some unusual friends.

Those are the oil-rich dictators Abdullah, Nazarbayev, and Karimov. I didn’t plan it this way, but the photos are proportioned roughly to the amount of oil they control.

Bush has no problem whatsoever making time for people who (respectively, and just for starters) jail free-speech advocates, persecute opponents, and even open fire on demonstrators

Bush’s attitude toward an American citizen exercising constitutional rights? We already know.

And so, I ask:

Osama Bin Laden or Cindy Sheehan:

Which one will George W. Bush have arrested first?

  • let’s not forget how "bin hiden" was offered to clinton on a silver platter but he refused. you have no earthly idea what is going on with covert operations such as the one you are talking about. that kind of information would not be discussed with joe citizen. nice try.

    • Don’t blame it on Clinton. Bin Laden’s name was not even mentioned at this time. The first attack on the WTC was not carried out by a Bin Laden group.

But the tendency in this article is right: Bush and his crooks are terrorists and a threat to the civilized world!

    • Let’s not forget that Bushco/Condo had 56 clear warnings that Bin Laden was going to drive some airplanes into something. Of course they coulsn’t wait because they needed him to just that so they could take the public’s minds off the stock market/Enron scandals and make billions of tax dollars on their war businesses.

Bushco totally ignored the 56 warnings because they were hoping it would happen sooner than later.

If this had happened on Clinton’s watch the press would have crucified him and everyone knows it.

    • Oh but nice try...trying to pin it on Clinton. Bushco will never admit they have ever done anything wrong, because to them they are sitting pretty having done nothing to stop 9/11 and using it to carry out their agenda for their oil companies, Halliburton, Lockheed Martin, Rayethon, General Dynamics, Carlyle....just Google these corporations and you will find Bushco behind them all.

  • Ooooh Ooooh!!! Blame Clinton! Blame Clinton! Amazing that Richard Clarke, who worked for Clinton (among Reagan and Bush I), told shrub how important Bin Hiden was and that he (OBL) was working on something big, What did he get for it? Fired.

This administration has consistently lied and obfuscated about what they consider important. It is no wonder the conspiracy theorists are going nuts. Say one thing and then do another is enough to convince anybody that you are lying. All those who unanimously support the president should turn off Faux news, find out what is really going on and wake the heck up before they find themselves living in a fascist dictatorship. Or is that what they all want?

  • the fact remains that bastard boy bin laden WAS offered to clinton and he DID turn it down. i’m sure it was and remains a very complex problem. clinton did some some good things. i think he had a healthy sprinkle of pragmatism about him. i think he would make a very good un sec gen. be that as it may, it doesn’t change the fact that he had the chance to bag bin laden and he didn’t get it done.
