News has spread across the country, but Americans remain unhindered by spineless Democratic leaders’ calls for a cut and run from Impeachment. Instead of being silenced, patriotic Americans have been emboldened by this call to action and have turned up the volume on their demands for justice.

We the people are shocked that you two are already stridently saying over and over again that impeachment is “off the table.” Since the historic Nov. 7th elections, I have talked to a boat-load of Americans who want impeachment on the table. We activists worked hard to make these elections about national issues, like the illegal and immoral occupation of Iraq, and the culture of corruption that, especially you, Ms. Pelosi have been railing against for months now. And you, Mr. Conyers, have already written a brilliant and detailed indictment of BushCo. We the people are definitely puzzled by your rhetoric.

We the people are here to tell you that we are the ones that are going to be setting the table, now....

We the people demand that you do your duties as officers and protectors of our Constitution and we demand that you do your duties as members of humanity to call a halt to the crimes against humanity of the Bush regime.

When the 110th Congress is seated on January 3rd, we the people, who also have a duty to our Constitution (We the People is the first line) and a duty to humanity will be walking the halls of your offices to tell you what our agenda is and what we want on the table....

Activists at the Democratic Underground are calling for a letter writing campaign much like the one that resulted in the pursuit of impeachment and resignation of Nixon.

More than 50,000 telegrams poured in on Capitol Hill today, so many, Western Union was swamped. Most of them demanded impeaching Mr. Nixon.

We already have more support than that. When John Conyers took Bush his petition demanding he answer questions about the DSM, it had 540,000 singnatures, over ten times as many as wrote about Nixon. I would bet most of those people would write to demand impeachment of Bush, probably more.

The great thing is, now we have someone to focus this demand on who can and possibly will act (in spite of her protests to the contrary): Nancy Pelosi.

She should have a half million signatures waiting for her her first day as Speaker of the House.

I think she and the many of the Democrats want to do this, but to overcome the reluctance of the DC etablishment and big money interests who are afraid their ox will be gored along with Bush & Cheney, she needs constant overwhelming evidence of public DEMAND not just support for impeachment.

  • Wishful thinking! It will never happen!

    • Maybe you were born after 1974, but I do remember that the vast majority of Americans also thought the same early that year as you do now, that a sitting War President could never be impeached. President Nixon was forced to resign from office in August, 1974, otherwise he would have been impeached and convicted. It really pays to know history.
      The fat lady hasn’t even begun singing her victory aria and you’re already throwing in the towel.

  • Bush said that we had to stay in Iraq until the job is done. Can someone tell me exactly what the job is that needs to get done? These people (like Bush and friends) have their own words that don’t mean the same as everyone elses. So, one never exactly knows what they are really talking about.

    • "Until the job is done" means the country will be occupied until the War profiteers have stolen every last cent out of the treasury they can, all of the cheap oil and gas has been sucked out of the ground, there is a McDonalds or Wal-mart on every street corner, 3 TV’s and a game-boy in every home, every citizen has several diseases that can only be treated by Big Pharma and a mountain of unpayable credit card debt, and Judaism is the dominant religion.

  • Well, it only takes a moment to help convince Nancy Pelosi to Impeach Bush/Cheney..

    Pelosi most likely said impeachment was "off the table" to remove any appearance of conflict-of-interest that would arise if she were thrust into the presidency as a result of the coming impeachment.

    What we need to do is to pressure Pelosi not to interfere with impeachment maneuverings within her party. Sending her Do-It-Yourself impeachments legitimizes her when she joins the impeachment movement in the future.

    Sacks and sacks of mail are about to arrive in Nancy Pelosi’s office initiating impeachment via the House of Representative’s own rules. This legal document is as binding as if a State or if the House itself passed the impeachment resolution (H.R. 635). There’s a little known and rarely used clause of the "Jefferson Manual" in the rules for the House of Representatives which sets forth the various ways in which a president can be impeached. Only the House Judiciary Committee puts together the Articles of Impeachment, but before that happens, someone has to initiate the process.That’s where we come in. In addition to a House Resolution (635), or the State-by-State method, one of the ways to get impeachment going is for individual citizens like you and me to submit a memorial. ImpeachforPeace.org has created a new memorial based on one which was successful in impeaching a federal official in the past. You can find it on their website as a PDF.

    You can initiate the impeachment process and simultaneously help to convince Pelosi to follow through with the process. Do-It-Yourself by downloading the memorial, filling in the relevant information (your name, state, etc.), and sending it in. Be a part of history.
