Does DLC stand for Dick’s Legal Counsel ?

Never has a group of conspirator’s had the good fortune to be blessed by the presence of such a cowardly , tepid " opposition." The fact that the Democratic Leadership in Congress refuses to broach the subject of impeaching the Bush - Cheney administration is proof positive that the Loyal Oppostion are Vichy-Dems , collaborationists who under no circumstance will fulfill their obligation to hold this administration accountable.

We have an administration that brags about lauching an illegal domestic surveilance programme targeting millions of Americans . This action is a clear violation of the Fourth Amendment to the United States Constitution . It is also a clear violation of the 1978 Foreign Intelligence Surveilance Act of 1978. Furthermore Bush-Cheney pledge to continue this illegal programme , in the process explicitly bypassing a duly constituted federal court of jurisdiction.

Where is the Opposition ?

On 108 different occasions this administration , citing non-existent "unitary executive powers" , has signed legislation where Chief Executive Bush explicitly pledges that he will not enforce those parts of a newly minted federal law that interfere with said "unitary powers".

This is a clear violation of the President’s constitutional duty to see that "all the laws are faithfully executed".

Where is the Opposition ?

In violation of the Posse Commitatus Act ,this administration has unleashed the Department of Defence to conduct unconstitutional and unregulated covert operations within the borders of the United States.

"Dangerous" groups such as the Quakers have been infiltrated to determine their ties to international terrorism.

A large data base targeting political opponents of this administration have been gathered by the Pentagon ,leading to the creation of political dossiers on people who have done nothing other than exercise their rights guaranteed them by the First Amendment of the United States Constitution.

Again , Where is the Opposition ?

What happened to the President’s sworn oath to "protect, preserve, and defend the Constitution of the United States ?

This administration’s utter contempt of International Law is even more shocking.

Geneva Conventions ? What Geneva Coventions ? Citing non-existent "inherent powers" , the Bush- Cheney administration can kidnap and torture anyone at anytime for any purpose depriving the captured all rights to due process. They are summarily tortured in secret concentration camps and are forced to sign confessions in order for the torture to cease.

POWS are given the same treatment .

Where is the Opposition ?

This administration engaged in a clear plan to Defraud the people of the United States from giving informed consent for a Congressional Resolution authorising the President to deploy military forces in Iraq.

Numerous false statements were made by top officials of this administration to the citizens of the United States and their duly elected representatives in Congress - statements that these officials knew were not true . The obsession to wage agressive against Iraq trumped any pretence of an allegiance to truth and decency.

The sanctity of the lives of US military personel and the citizens of Iraq were sacrificed to sate this deranged obsession to invade Iraq . ( The US occupation of Iraq was to be the beached the for the eventual US takeover of the entire region. )

Indeed , not one allegation proffered by Sec. of State Colin Powell in his early February 2003 presentation to the UN turned out to have any merit whatsoever.
