In the spirit of fairness, though I agree, he should have been seen by cops right after, it is a very classic accident. When it first happened I said to Genie that likely they were shooting at phesant, wild turkey or quail, as they take off fast and low, and one swings with the shot. It is just one of those things, and my condolences to all concerned, it is one of those terrible things that you wish you could redo the moment.

So, when it turned out that Cheney was hunting Quail, well it all made sense.

I do wonder, however, when we are going to get a comment from Dan Quail, and if everything is patched up between him and Cheney.

Well, it seems that an earlier version of MSNBC’s article made mention of "a beer or two". The beer reference was scrubbed:

The New York Times is reporting that Cheney could be criminally charged if his accident victim dies.

Ironic, isn’t it, that an alleged "accident" might be his downfall after getting a free ride on so many deadly crimes committed in public and set forth as "policy"?
