04/01/06 "ICH" — — The world has gotten itself into a real jam. I mean a humdinger of a jam! As in John Paul Sartre’s existential drama, No Exit, which so nicely portrays the inescapability of self-chosen evil, the inevitability of a self-made Hell, there seems to be no way out for the world; no way for the inhabitants of planet Earth to escape what appears to be the inevitability of a hell of its own making... World War III!
Of course, as I tell my students.. the history of the world is (…)

Let’s face it, many, many people turn to cannabis at one point or another in their lives. We all know that just about ever pop musician in the world has a relationship with this plant, that’s not mention at least one member of the Royal Family in Britain and people on probably every street in the nation not to mention in many (…)

The Israeli Elections A Decisive Vote for Apartheid By OMAR BARGHOUTI (Counterpunch)
4 April 2006 par (Open-Publishing)
"Israel votes for disengagement and final borders" and "Israelis abandon the dream of Greater Israel" were the main themes in the spin that characterized mainstream, even some progressive, media coverage of the Israeli parliamentary elections which took place on March 28. In reality, the election results revealed that a consensus has emerged among Israeli Jews, not only against the basic requirements of justice and genuine peace, as that was always the case, but also in support of a more (…)

Francis Fukuyama’s Iraq recantation has received keen attention on both sides of the Atlantic. Like many US conservatives, he now distances himself from what has been done in the neocons’ name by the Bush administration. Of course, we welcome every sinner that repenteth, but the people who seem most deserving of respect are those clever Americans who got it right in the first place. Most of my US military acquaintances opposed the (…) -

Dr.Lawrence J. Peter and Condi Rice
3 April 2006 par (Open-Publishing)
Dr.Lawrence J. Peter is known for his famous "principle", the focus of his famous book "The Peter Principle" His principle states that "Every employee in a hierarchy rises to the highest level of competency. After that, with one more promotion he stops at the level of his INcompetency"
Nowhere can I find a better example than with our current (crazed) Secretary of State, Ms.Condoleezza Rice, who, after having achieved fame as an accomplished ballerina, classical pianist, Russian expert (…)
