To Joe Scarborough and Steve Adubato, tell the truth of President Chavez By Mary MacElveen March 23, 2007
As I have watched Scarborough Country go after President Bush’s handling of the Iraq War, I must say that I have enjoyed the barbs being launched against this administration. I just wish that shows like Scarborough Country did that many years ago and fact checked this president as he sent over 3,100 soldiers to their deaths and killed thousands upon thousands of innocent Iraqis.

Stop the End of the World: PURGE BUSH!
21 March 2007 par (Open-Publishing)
3 commentsCan George W. Bush Be Purged? Mayan priests purified their sacred land after Shrub scurried off. Can we do the same? By Mark Morford, SF Gate Columnist

Sage is always good. Or maybe lavender. Pine is nice, too. Dried, bundled, tied with string, burned with hot, divine intent. Would it work? Do we have enough to go around? This is the question.
I speak, of course, of ritual. Purging and cleansing and purifying and, truly, burning a nicely dried, blessed smudge (…) -

“Early last week, I was having dinner with an old friend of my wife’s who works for the Justice Department as an analyst. During the course of the meal, he mentioned a lengthy report he has on his desk about Vice President Cheney. It was compiled by a Department individual, known to him and considered to be very accurate.
It is a lengthy report on Cheney’s psychological makeup, his physical problems and a clear rationale for his very possible death, (…) -
Pres. Bush, DeLay, Perle and others are collaborators against the American people

In inviting former Congressman Tom DeLay onto their program to discuss the Iraq War, ‘Meet the Press’ lowered the bar for honest debate. After all, he resigned his office because he was indicted. His voice should carry absolutely no weight as this war is discussed. He has no right to interject his feelings and opinions of this war as he did so with the Terrie Schiavo (…) -
Stuck in a Rut: Forced Occupation for Gain
18 March 2007 par (Open-Publishing)
The Bush Administration and their Neocon pals just don’t "get it". They didn’t in 2001, and they don’t now.
While post war occupation by us and other countries in the past has been relatively successful, a FORCED occupation is seldom a winning action.
The Romans, who spread their culture and their armies to the far corners of the then known world, were eventually bounced out by angry "little guys" who were far less effectively armed but were much more dedicated in their fighting.

2 commentsWhen a Congress Member steps out into a firestorm of opposition from the corporate media and his own party’s leadership, he has to hear support from us to keep him going. Please call Rep. Dennis Kucinich at 202-225-5871 and Email him at http://kucinich.us/contact and thank him for his remarks today on the floor of the House, in which he stood up for Congress’ war powers and stated impeachment may be the only way to prevent President Bush from attacking Iran. Fake Congressional Opposition to War
17 March 2007 par (Open-Publishing)
5 commentsby Stephen Lendman
The US electorate sent a clear, unequivocal message in the November mid-term elections. End the Iraq war and bring home the troops. Many supporting war in the 109th Congress lost out to more moderate voices taking over their seats because voters want change and expect new faces to deliver starting with the top issue on voters’ minds in recent polls - Iraq. A majority of the public demands it, protests and heated rhetoric continue building over it, and the Congress is (…) -
The Ides of March

A few days ago, I sent out a frustrated email to a small listserv that includes some major peace activists in the nation, including Dennis and Elizabeth Kucinich. My email reads as follows:
With the impending invasion of Iran, which will probably turn nuclear (or “nukular” as some say), why is no member of Congress introducing Articles of Impeachment?
We live in a rogue state…who will stop them?
I received the standard reply (…) -

In reading this piece, AIPAC conference opens to controversy starting with John Hagee the quote that I zeroed in on was one made by Senator Barack Obama who is a Democratic presidential candidate when he said, “We should take no option, including military action, off the table, and show strong support for Israel’s actions in last summer’s war against Hezbollah,” The option he speaks of is a possible (…) -
AIPAC’s Gabfest: Israel Lobby Shows Off Its Power

“[Israel’s Ariel] Sharon has him [President George W. Bush Jr.] wrapped around his little finger.” - Brent Scowcroft
Washington, DC - Leave it to the controversial pro-Israel Lobby, “AIPAC,” the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, to attract a crowd of very vocal protesters. On March 12, 2007, it was in its second of a three-day annual gabfest, held in this city’s Convention Center. On its web site, AIPAC bragged that 5,000 activists would show up for the event, which generally draw (…)
