HOW CAN BUSH STOP TERRORISM?
By Peter Fredson
July 15, 2005
The alleged reason Bush gives for Terrorism and Terrorists is that “They hate democracy. They hate freedom.” He has stuck to this fabrication for several years because his True Believer followers firmly believe that Muslims hate everything dear to Christians and should be exterminated.
Bush firmly believes that the way to fight terrorism is to kill every single “terrorist” his troops and C.I.A. can capture, and by imposing his own brand of counter-terrorism on the Iraqi people.
For every terrorist that is killed Bush issues press interviews, self-proclaiming himself a crusader hero that is winning the physical and spiritual fight and that he will keep on doing so, even if it takes the rest of the 21st century. He keeps photos of captured and killed Muslims and believes that when his desk-drawer collection of terrorists is dead that terrorism will cease.
He will "stay the course"; he will not relent in his views. He will not accommodate, will not bargain, and will not question his firmly-held beliefs that Islam is EVIL, although he will vociferously and publicly deny it, showing that he really LOVES Muslims, except not the kind that contradict him.
We do not have to review the history of Muslim grievances with the Bush family or their corporate sponsors. Bush knows the history well. He knows why some Muslims hate him and his family and the corporate raiders, but pretends that he doesn’t. The grievances of Muslims go unheard, unheeded, or are laughed away. And, until they are seriously addressed, the terrorism will continue.
After the London Bombings, Blair issued a denunciation of Islam. In Tehran, Ayatollah Mohammad Emami Kashani declared: “Has the British prime minister forgotten who Al-Qaeda’s parents are? I remind him then that the United States is Al-Qaeda’s father and Israel is the mother of that illegitimate child. It was you yourselves that created this group in the name of Islam and therefore the conduct of a child whose father is the global arrogance, or the White House, and its mothers are the Israeli butchers should not surprise anyone.... You also armed the former Iraqi president Saddam Hussein to teeth with all kinds of armaments to create problems for Iran, but it is again you yourselves that are caught in Iraq’s quagmires.”
The more Bush laughs off Muslim grievances or claims that he is bringing freedom and democracy to Iraq by killing “insurgents and thugs” the more recruits he creates.
These recruits are patriots of their own countries, of their own religions, with real grievances. They believe so strongly in the cause of the grievances that they are willing to offer their lives to affect redress, unlike cowardly draft-dodging leaders in the U.S. Until Bush recognizes that these people are not thugs or bandits they will continue to grow and prosper.
He consoles himself by pretending that the Muslims have no real quarrel with his policies, with his invasion, with his killing a hundred thousand Iraqis, with his stealing their oil, with his installation of many airbases from which he is obviously trying to bully and dominate the entire Middle East with his aggressive preemptive imperial arrogance.
His stubbornness, refusal to consider options, neoconservative lust for power, go-it-alone, smash-the-noncooperative UN, appoint a blood-thirsty but cowardly cabinet, find pretexts to consider himself above any man-made law, deny all responsibility for death and destruction, and his obvious megalomania, make him the most dangerous U.S. President in history.
To reverse the situation, picture Iraqi soldiers in every town of the U.S. smashing down doors, chopping off heads, destroying infrastructure, then claiming they are bringing “Truth, Light, and Allah to the benighted infidels”
Would Bush then declare any American who took up arms, pitchforks, or clubs, against the Iraqis was a “thug and murderous terrorist insurgent.” Would he then claim that neighbors of the U.S. should not send anyone to help? Redefining an enemy to suit an arrogant and aggressive policy will not stop terrorism, but it may help to augment it.
If Bush REALLY wants to stop Muslim terrorism, he obviously should take steps like:
1. Withdraw all U.S. troops from Iraq.
2. Withdraw all contractors, proselytizers, faith-based organizations.
3. Immediately release all funds for reconstruction of Iraqi infrastructure.
4. Give up all control of any Iraqi resources back to the Iraqis.
5. Force all U.S. corporations to release all Iraqi property, assets, and control, and return to whatever rat holes they came from.
6. Dismantle and abandon all U.S. Airbases and other military installations in the Middle East.
7. Cease beating war drums against Iran and Syria.
8. Actively aid in non-partisan attempts to end the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.
9. Stop all CIA efforts to destabilize any Muslim regime.
10. Stop his aggressive sycophants from promoting conflict and inflicting terror on populations.
11. Immediately process all prisoners of war and cease all abuse and torture of them.
12. Pay some attention to domestic economy, environment, employment, out-sourcing abuses, medical care, etc.
So far there is no discernable effort to take any of the above steps. Presidential self-glorification takes precedence even over National concerns. Presidential exploitation of flag, patriotism, 9/11, terror, religion and hatred of gays continues unabated.
The majority of Americans now believe Bush lies, does so repeatedly, has ruined our reputation as a nation, has little concern with the environment, does not know how to govern the country except by fascist-like fiat, has turned congress into a branch of the Oval office, assaults the constitution with religious slogans, and associates with cowardly people who are eager to profit from war and corruption.

Looking at this list of the things Bush needs to do reads more like a list of things Bush should undo. Just who in hell authorized all of these things that need undoing in the first place? Do the reprobates masquerading as the Republican leadership just give Bush carte blanche, no questions asked?

Fields: Yes, The entire Republican Party has been captured by the True Believer Christians, due to their votes, money and support. Congress is no longer in control of the nation, but has become a sycophant of George Bush’s Oval Office, which itself is an extension of the Neonconservative corporations, reconstructionists, dominionists and other loony offshoots of Christianity that mean to dominate the world. George Bush and his aggressive but cowardly cabinet reflect the bloodthirsty ambitions of people that would like to rule the world and are willing to kill everyone that stands in their way. Bush exploits flag, country, religion, 9/11, terror and everything he touches for personal self-glory. His arrogance, petulance, impatience, and recklessness make him the most dangerous President this country has ever had to face.

I agree completely with the statement of Ayatollah Mohammad Emami Kashani. It also shows us who has a brain - Bush/Blair and their henchmen don’t have any - and who is the real terrorist: USA.
This bullshit about they "hate" our freedom and democracy. Democracy in America hardly exists anymoore. The land has fallen in the hand of a plutocratic fascistic regime, which uses false words.
Wasn’t it the bible which warned christians about false prophecies and prophets! Bush and cohorts are not prophets they are stupid jerks.

The war on terrorism is a war on dissent. Like the war on drugs that refuses to send to jail the biggest dealer in the u.s., the cia and gov.(as gary webb was killed for proving). The republicans learned long ago fear is a cheap motivator for the simpletons that populate this country. There are plenty of people that can read between the lines and are suspicious but obviously a large number n’t as evidenced by the popular vote in the last stolen election. If only 30 percent had voted for him it would have been impossible to manipulate with the diebold machines because too many exit polls would have been way off. Bush and Blair are the axis of evil and are terrorizing, (and killing) their own constituents as evidenced by refusal to have public investigations into 9/11 and London bombings. If I did those things I wouldn’t want the public to know. The real problem is we americans have no balls, at the turn off the century the workers at carnege steel took over the factory and organized for more wages. Carnege hired mercenaries (Brinks security) to shoot it out with the strikers. People were killed on both sides, the n.y. militia was sent in (gov troops defending the rich against its own people) to quell the taking of private property. Who today would risk dieing for higher wages?, you can’t get any congressmen to demand impeaching a president that lied to start an illegal war, much less not vote to fund an illegal war. When each american is in debt $287,000 the debt ceiling had to be raised as soon as king George took office. Since we have to balance our check books and go to jail for writing bad checks, how come congress doesn’t? The war on "......" fill in the blank is about transferring the wealth of poor and middle class to the rich. Remember King George declared Osama Bin Laden responsible for killing 3000 americans and 1 year later publicly said " Osama Bin Laden doesn’t concern me" when asked why he hadn’t been found. There’s your war on terrorism. zorro
