    Of course, unlike the situation in the 19th century, the democratic West is now politically correct (PC) and eschews explicit racism. Kurtz’s assertion of "exterminate all the brutes" in Joseph Conrad’s African novel "Heart of Darkness" was acceptable back in circa 1900 when it was first published in an explicitly racist Britain.
