Governments USA

Rumbles from the Street:
The King is Dead! Long Live the People!

Senator Clinton & U.S. Congressional Leadership:

Three cheers from the American "street" and the "outlands" of the Americas for your timely metaphor regarding Congress being run like a "PLANTATION"— by which you surely mean it has become elitist, corrupted, poisoned by paranoia, blinded by industry? All the "good old boys" with their bankrolls and silky suits spitting out barred windows on common taxpayers and the vast "underpriveleged" who barely rate a mention?

Our only protest is that you haven’t gone far enough with your moxie metaphors. If Congress is being run like a plantation, then the Departments of Interior, Energy and the EPA are being run like Wal-marts®, handing out our children’s resources to the fattest financers, greasing the oily palms of petroleum and chemical bigwigs.

To continue the metaphoric monkeywrench— the White House has become Custer’s Calvary, charging in with commands of extermination, "smoking out" evil real and concocted, subverting the letter and intention of international and constitutional law. Considering the level to which we have been "misled," robbed, held up, our reputations and pride shattered on the world stage, one cannot be too harsh in categorizing this cabal of corporate cronies.

There is no longer any practical way of addressing the Bush regime but as CRIMINALs. They are mobsters who’ve dragged us into a nightmare, jamming a global protection racket into our guts. They are paranoiac, calculating cheaters, pushing a radical far-right agenda of exploitation and elitism not apparent on such a scale since Nero fiddled and feasted while Rome crashed and burned.

"Never forget that everything Hitler did in Germany was legal."
— Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr.

The Bush regime and their henchmen have stolen two elections, engineered a vast terror conspiracy, launched an illegal war of aggression and invasion of another culture under false premises, ordered the torture, imprisonment and extermination of an entire class of people (anyone deemed a "terrorist" by a "classified" network of shadow agencies) with little or no oversight, and have broken nearly every humanitarian, diplomatic, and environmental treaty they could find.

You stated that this administration will be remembered as "one of the worst in American history." Again, I’m afraid you are being much too kind. The Bush regime is and will be one of the most vilified and despicable political "melt-downs" in human history. You must add to your comparitive equation nuclear weapons, depleted uranium, the ravaging of vast pristine areas, the ruin of our economy, the loss of good-will, and good Lord— the crimes! The 9-11 terror events are yet to be fully addressed, as Senator Clinton must know representing the city of New York. New Yorkers have yet to have their day of truth and justice before the world community. A thousand basic questions have yet to be addressed.

So thank you for your protective stance on our behalf— but we Americans should NEVER have let this corrupted cowboy clownshow to go this far over the edge. Our world’s survival is hanging in the balance and being burned away every day. Cheney, Bush and Rumsfeld all belong behind bars, the sooner the better. This fact is painfully obvious to the rest of the world. Why these ruthless criminals should be rewarded with one more court appointment, wilderness area, oil contract or any other benefit is beyond the comprehension of historically aware citizens of this world.

A suggestion from the "tired & hungry yearning to breathe free" to any representative with a shred of ethics left in Washington, DC: push for immediate IMPEACHMENT and a convening of a Constitutional Congress to redefine the separation of powers and the role of the President. Personally, I believe Presidents and Prime Ministers are obsolescent shadows of a King, and as such are obstacles to true diplomacy between peoples and nations in this new millennium.

As for the "plantation house" you are a part of, it is painfully obvious that the "two-party system" has failed miserably on all accounts. How ironic that the nation-building project in Iraq has more fair representation than our own vast and diverse colonial empire! With a parliamentary democracy we would be able to liberate the many oppressed and unrepresented communities (like Native nations)— from the redwood forests to the Gulfstream waters. While you’re at it— the antiquated and easily manipulated "electoral college" must also be tossed on the discard pile of history— even the Queen says so!

In spook-speak let me put it bluntly: the "Football" has been fumbled! The codes are in the hands of criminal conspirators and corporate elitists. Holocaust and hell comes at night tapping on our windows! Rhetoric and warning has had it’s day— action is demanded NOW.

The King is dead! God save the People!

Buying a Body Bag for the Future

I feel us being pulled backward in time
one of those dreams where no matter how
you try to escape you can’t get ahead of it
running up the down escalator from some hell

All the centuries of struggle for our humanity
being pulled out from under us in an idiot’s blink
while war machines drone overhead and flags
millions of flags hiding the grimy grey sky

A record repeating and each time more loudly
the emperor’s new clothes a Wagner opera
screeching of sirens and beating of drums
a warmonger raging on the world stage

Lost in the tempo and terror of it we hide
but it’s like a poison gas and seeps into us
smelling of funeral fires and death camps
and gasoline it invades our every tissue

Like barbed wire it is everywhere we turn
the fuel for the fires of hate and murder
choking off all paths to our sanity
filling our eyes with balls of flame

Who can make sense of it any more?
the dream descending into a deadzone
history no longer a question but a noose
dragging us toward a monumental pyre

Try screaming and waking the others
it’s like a movie they will say and smile
while millions more flags are unfurled
and our children are given uniforms

Who are the shadows behind the curtains
able to digest entire countries in a night?
those behind warmakers and banks
who manufacture truth and power?

They are in our blood now as a germ
in our heads as the lights go out
repeating in our ears their news
someone must pay for evil deeds

No matter the cause or the suffering
damn the cost and the consequences
when the warlords rule our dreams
our past is forgotten and future forsaken

Bush Has Crossed the Rubicon
by Paul Craig Roberts

Dictatorships seldom appear full-fledged but emerge piecemeal. When Julius Caesar crossed the Rubicon with one Roman legion he broke the tradition that protected the civilian government from victorious generals and launched the transformation of the Roman Republic into the Roman Empire. Fearing that Caesar would become a king, the Senate assassinated him. From the civil wars that followed, Caesar’s grandnephew, Octavian, emerged as the first Roman emperor, Caesar Augustus.

Two thousand years later in Germany, Adolf Hitler’s rise to dictator from his appointment as chancellor was rapid. Hitler used the Reichstag fire to create an atmosphere of crisis. Both the judicial and legislative branches of government collapsed, and Hitler’s decrees became law. The Decree for the Protection of People and State (Feb. 28, 1933) suspended guarantees of personal liberty and permitted arrest and incarceration without trial. The Enabling Act (March 23, 1933) transferred legislative power to Hitler, permitting him to decree laws, laws moreover that "may deviate from the Constitution."

The dictatorship of the Roman emperors was not based on an ideology. The Nazis had an ideology of sorts, but Hitler’s dictatorship was largely personal and agenda-based. The dictatorship that emerged from the Bolshevik Revolution was based in ideology. Lenin declared that the Communist Party’s dictatorship over the Russian people rests "directly on force, not limited by anything, not restricted by any laws, nor any absolute rules." Stalin’s dictatorship over the Communist Party was based on coercion alone, unrestrained by any limitations or inhibitions.

In this first decade of the 21st century the United States regards itself as a land of democracy and civil liberty but, in fact, is an incipient dictatorship. Ideology plays only a limited role in the emerging dictatorship. The demise of American democracy is largely the result of historical developments.

Lincoln was the first American tyrant. Lincoln justified his tyranny in the name of preserving the Union. His extra-legal, extra-constitutional methods were tolerated in order to suppress Northern opposition to Lincoln’s war against the Southern secession.

The first major lasting assault on the US Constitution’s separation of powers, which is the basis for our political system, came with the response of the Roosevelt administration to the crisis of the Great Depression. The New Deal resulted in Congress delegating its legislative powers to the executive branch. Today when Congress passes a statute it is little more than an authorization for an executive agency to make the law by writing the regulations that implement it.

Prior to the New Deal, legislation was tightly written to minimize any executive branch interpretation. Only in this way can law be accountable to the people. If the executive branch that enforces the law also writes the law, "all legislative powers" are no longer vested in elected representatives in Congress. The Constitution is violated, and the separation of powers is breached.

The principle that power delegated to Congress by the people cannot be delegated by Congress to the executive branch is the mainstay of our political system. Until President Roosevelt overturned this principle by threatening to pack the Supreme Court, the executive branch had no role in interpreting the law. As Justice John Marshall Harlan wrote: "That congress cannot delegate legislative power to the president is a principle universally recognized as vital to the integrity and maintenance of the system of government ordained by the Constitution."

Despite seven decades of an imperial presidency that has risen from the New Deal’s breach of the separation of powers, Republican attorneys, who constitute the membership of the quarter-century-old Federalist Society, the candidate group for Republican nominees to federal judgeships, write tracts about the Imperial Congress and the Imperial Judiciary that are briefs for concentrating more power in the executive. Federalist Society members pretend that Congress and the Judiciary have stolen all the power and run away with it.

The Republican interest in strengthening executive power has its origin in frustration from the constraints placed on Republican administrations by Democratic congresses. The thrust to enlarge the President’s powers predates the Bush administration but is being furthered to a dangerous extent during Bush’s second term. The confirmation of Bush’s nominee, Samuel Alito, a member of the Federalist Society, to the Supreme Court will provide five votes in favor of enlarged presidential powers.

President Bush has used "signing statements" hundreds of times to vitiate the meaning of statutes passed by Congress. In effect, Bush is vetoing the bills he signs into law by asserting unilateral authority as commander-in-chief to bypass or set aside the laws he signs. For example, Bush has asserted that he has the power to ignore the McCain amendment against torture, to ignore the law that requires a warrant to spy on Americans, to ignore the prohibition against indefinite detention without charges or trial, and to ignore the Geneva Conventions to which the US is signatory.

In effect, Bush is asserting the powers that accrued to Hitler in 1933. His Federalist Society apologists and Department of Justice appointees claim that President Bush has the same power to interpret the Constitution as the Supreme Court. An Alito Court is likely to agree with this false claim.

This is the great issue that is before the country. But it is pushed into the background by political battles over abortion and homosexual rights. Many people fighting to strengthen the executive think they are fighting against legitimizing sodomy and murder in the womb. They are unaware that the real issue is that America is on the verge of elevating its president above the law.

Bush Justice Department official and Berkeley law professor John Yoo argues that no law can restrict the president in his role as commander-in-chief. Thus, once the president is at war - even a vague open-ended "war on terror" - Bush’s Justice Department says the president is free to undertake any action in pursuit of war, including the torture of children and indefinite detention of American citizens.

The commander-in-chief role is probably sufficiently elastic to expand to any crisis, whether real or fabricated. Thus has the US arrived at the verge of dictatorship.

This development has little to do with Bush, who is unlikely to be aware that the Constitution is experiencing its final rending on his watch. America’s descent into dictatorship is the result of historical developments and of old political battles dating back to President Nixon being driven from office by a Democratic Congress.

There is today no constitutional party. Both political parties, most constitutional lawyers, and the bar associations are willing to set aside the Constitution whenever it interferes with their agendas. Americans have forgotten the prerequisites for freedom, and those pursuing power have forgotten what it means when it falls into other hands. Americans are very close to losing their constitutional system and civil liberties. It is paradoxical that American democracy is the likely casualty of a "war on terror" that is being justified in the name of the expansion of democracy.

AL GORE ON FIRE 2006

AN EARLY HIGHLIGHT: "The President of the United States has been breaking the law repeatedly and persistently."

MORE HIGHLIGHTS...

(Transcript)

A president who breaks the law is a threat to the very structure of our government. Our Founding Fathers were adamant that they had established a government of laws and not men. Indeed, they recognized that the structure of government they had enshrined in our Constitution - our system of checks and balances - was designed with a central purpose of ensuring that it would govern through the rule of law.
...
The President and I agree on one thing. The threat from terrorism is all too real...Where we disagree is that we have to break the law or sacrifice our system of government to protect Americans from terrorism. In fact, doing so makes us weaker and more vulnerable.
...
It is this same disrespect for America’s Constitution which has now brought our republic to the brink of a dangerous breach in the fabric of the Constitution. And the disrespect embodied in these apparent mass violations of the law is part of a larger pattern of seeming indifference to the Constitution that is deeply troubling to millions of Americans in both political parties.
...
This shameful exercise of power overturns a set of principles that our nation has observed since General Washington first enunciated them during our Revolutionary War and has been observed by every president since then - until now.
...
But the most serious damage has been done to the legislative branch. The sharp decline of congressional power and autonomy in recent years has been almost as shocking as the efforts by the Executive Branch to attain a massive expansion of its power.
...
The Congress we have today is unrecognizable compared to the one in which my father served. There are many distinguished Senators and Congressmen serving today. I am honored that some of them are here in this hall. But the legislative branch of government under its current leadership now operates as if it is entirely subservient to the Executive Branch.
...
In the 70’s and 80’s, the oversight hearings in which my colleagues and I participated held the feet of the Executive Branch to the fire - no matter which party was in power. Yet oversight is almost unknown in the Congress today.
...
It is the pitiful state of our legislative branch which primarily explains the failure of our vaunted checks and balances to prevent the dangerous overreach by our Executive Branch which now threatens a radical transformation of the American system.

I call upon Democratic and Republican members of Congress today to uphold your oath of office and defend the Constitution. Stop going along to get along. Start acting like the independent and co-equal branch of government you’re supposed to be. [standing ovation received after this section]
...
Fear drives out reason. Fear suppresses the politics of discourse and opens the door to the politics of destruction. Justice Brandeis once wrote: "Men feared witches and burnt women."

The founders of our country faced dire threats. If they failed in their endeavors, they would have been hung as traitors. The very existence of our country was at risk.

Yet, in the teeth of those dangers, they insisted on establishing the Bill of Rights.

Is our Congress today in more danger than were their predecessors when the British army was marching on the Capitol? Is the world more dangerous than when we faced an ideological enemy with tens of thousands of missiles poised to be launched against us and annihilate our country at a moment’s notice? Is America in more danger now than when we faced worldwide fascism on the march-when our fathers fought and won two World Wars simultaneously?

It is simply an insult to those who came before us and sacrificed so much on our behalf to imply that we have more to be fearful of than they. Yet they faithfully protected our freedoms and now it is up to us to do the same.

We have a duty as Americans to defend our citizens’ right not only to life but also to liberty and the pursuit of happiness. It is therefore vital in our current circumstances that immediate steps be taken to safeguard our Constitution against the present danger posed by the intrusive overreaching on the part of the Executive Branch and the President’s apparent belief that he need not live under the rule of law.

I endorse the words of Bob Barr, when he said, "The President has dared the American people to do something about it. For the sake of the Constitution, I hope they will."

A special counsel should immediately be appointed by the Attorney General to remedy the obvious conflict of interest that prevents him from investigating what many believe are serious violations of law by the President.
...
new whistleblower protections should immediately be established for members of the Executive Branch who report evidence of wrongdoing — especially where it involves the abuse of Executive Branch authority in the sensitive areas of national security.

Third, both Houses of Congress should hold comprehensive-and not just superficial-hearings into these serious allegations of criminal behavior on the part of the President. And, they should follow the evidence wherever it leads.
...
As I stand here today, I am filled with optimism that America is on the eve of a golden age in which the vitality of our democracy will be re-established and will flourish more vibrantly than ever. Indeed I can feel it in this hall.

As Dr. King once said, "Perhaps a new spirit is rising among us. If it is, let us trace its movements and pray that our own inner being may be sensitive to its guidance, for we are deeply in need of a new way beyond the darkness that seems so close around us."

The Unanswered Question:
Who Really Won In 2004?

Introduction by DemocraticUnderground Poster Autorank

According to the vote tabulators, in the 2004 presidential election George
W. Bush won a stunning victory that defied all odds, particularly those
applied by unbiased statisticians. He won despite trailing in most state and
national polls. He won despite an approval rating of less than 50%, usually
the death knell for an incumbent presidential candidate. He won despite
trailing in the three National Exit Polls three timelines from 4pm to 12:22
am (13047 respondents) by a steady 48%-51%, miraculously winning the final
exit poll (with only 613 additional respondents, totaling 13,660). This poll
was weighted (altered) to meet the reported election result on the
assumption that the reported result was accurate — quite an assumption. The
final poll showed a stunning reversal of the Kerry 51%-48% poll margin,
which had been measured consistently all day by the same polling group:
major news/networks and polling firm Edison-Mitofsky.

The analysis of exit polls and documented fraud in this election began on
the Internet. A number of academics posted detailed work showing the
near-impossible odds of Bush overcoming deficits in the state exit polls and
the National Exit Polls. Much of this analysis comes from TruthIsAll (TIA),
a poster on DemocraticUnderground.Com. TIA has a background and several
degrees in applied mathematics. Using various elements of the national and
state exit polls and other data sources, he produces results that are
thorough, detailed, sober and compelling. He shows ALL data and
calculations, while encouraging others to check his math. Only once did he
make a minor math error, after asking DUers to check his calculation of
probability that at least 16 states would deviate beyond their exit poll
margin of error and go for Bush. The answer turned out to be one in 19
trillion! The debates on DemocraticUnderground’s "2004: Election Results and
Discussion" forum are legendary and have attracted observers from all over
the Net.

Before the election, TIA produced a daily update of his Election Model site.
On 11/1/04, based on extensive statistical analysis, he projected a Kerry
win of 51.63% to 48.38%, using a combined average of national polls, and of
51.80% to 48.2% using a Monte Carlo simulation of individual state polls.
After the polls closed, data from the Edison Mitofsky NEP survey (sponsored
by the major television networks and CNN) was unintentionally released over
the Internet. This was internal network data, embargoed from public use,
data with statements like "Estimates not for on-air use" and "This page
cannot be displayed." The networks had locked down this data for their own
use in an "electronic cover-up" that was offensive to those who knew the
story. Luckily for all of us, Jonathan Simon downloaded the exit poll data
and saved the CNN screen shots! The Edison-Mitofsky (EM)-Corporate Media
(CM) "embargoed data" was available for anyone with eyes to see it and a
mind to review it.

TruthIsAll immediately began analyzing and publishing analyses on the
forbidden data. Looking at the demographics on the second to last E-M major
network poll, he laid out the set of improbable circumstances needed for
Bush to win: "To believe Bush won the election, you must also believe.."
This post was cited by Will Pitt in a major blog, which gave it wide
visibility on the Net. "KERRY WON THE FEMALE VOTE BY A HIGHER PERCENTAGE
THAN BUSH WON THE MALE VOTE.AND MORE WOMEN (54%) VOTED THAN MEN (46%)." It
was all right there, polling results that we were never intended to see. But
this was only the beginning. There are over 100 individual analytical
postings that demonstrate the tremendous odds against a Bush win. This
high-level analysis dovetailed with and was confirmed by on-the-ground
stories of voting rights violations all over the country, particularly in
Ohio.

The key data sources for TIA’s analysis are the four EM National Exit Polls
and the 50 state exit polls. For those who doubt the reliability of exit
polling, there has been a trend toward accuracy within 0.4% since 1998.
These Exit polls are endorsed heartily by international voting rights
activists — the CarterCenter, for example — and even the Bush
administration, which used them, ironically, in the Ukraine elections to
demonstrate fraud and call for a new election.

At 12:22 am on November 3, the national exit poll of 13,047 respondents
showed Kerry to be the winner by 51% to 48%, matching TIA’s pre-election
projection. The poll was "un-weighted," meaning the EM and CM had yet to
apply weighting "adjustments": percentages and weights applied to all the
demographic categories to match the poll results to the reported vote count!
Imagine if this technique had been applied by exit pollsters in the first
Ukrainian election to show victory for the incumbent, who had committed
gross election fraud. Yet this odd technique of turning a poll into a
ratification of the actual voting results was applied in the American
election. The final exit poll, with 13,660 respondents, showed a stunning
reversal of fortune for Bush. The poll results were "re-weighted" to create
a Bush "victory margin."

The odds against the deviations from the state and national exit polls to
the final vote count are astronomical. In addition, there is the consistency
of the "pristine" exit poll timeline from 4 pm (8349 respondents) to 7:30 pm
(11,027) to 12:22 am (13,047).

In addition to the gender-based evidence cited above, TIA has shown that
some weightings for the question "How did you vote in 2000" are
mathematically impossible. For example, the final poll claims that 43% of
all 2004 voters were former Bush 2000 voters. But 43% of 122.3 million, the
number of votes in the 2004 presidential election, is 52.59 million, and
Bush only got 50.46 million votes in 2000, approximately 1.75 million of
them from voters who have since died. Therefore, Bush’s final poll exit poll
numbers, WHICH WERE MATCHED TO THE VOTE, had to be off by 4 million votes.

The analysis also demonstrated that other voter statistics make it
impossible for Bush to have won. Even if all Bush voters from 2000 showed up
and voted for him, he still needed an additional 13 million votes. He didn’t
get them from new voters and those who did not vote in 2000; those voters
preferred Kerry by an almost 3-to-2 margin. Because of this, a Bush victory
required that he must win a whopping 14% of Gore 2000 voters, all of whom
had to return to vote in 2004. But Gore voters were angry; they came back to
defeat Bush once again after having the election stolen from them.

Logical absurdities and inconsistencies in Election 2004 abound. The data,
analysis, and narrative are available here for open-minded individuals who
want to form their own conclusions about "Stolen Election 2004."

analysis provided by the dedicated voting rights activists in

Amerika Uber Alles: Bush Fear Machine Trumps Reason
The End of Democracy: America Sells its Soul & Loses the World

Bravo Zulu Bywydd

" I say we had better look our nation searchingly in the face, like a physician diagnosing some deep disease."
—Walt Whitman, "Democratic Vistas"

An open letter to the wide world:

Now we have come the End of the colonial experiment known as the "United States of America." It has ended as the founders had warned it would likely end, with concentration of wealth, corruption, and despotism despoiling its democratic foundations. Unfortunately, it has also ended with madmen and criminals holding an arsenal of planet-scorching weapons, a black-hole of an economy sucking down the world, and a murderous culture bent on revenge.

As a child of this colonial republic, a veteran of its military, a keeper of the flame of rebellion, I now see no hope of recovery for a dead horse poisonously floating down stream. America has been infected, subverted, polluted, corrupted, plundered, stolen by corporate raiders and warmongers. Its elections have been hacked, hijacked and sidetracked with partisan smears and lies, failed technology, and corrupted media. It has become mired in manipulations of terror, invasions and occupations of distant lands, and endless bloody warfare. It has been seized by the most hated men in history, with designs on running it into the ground while swindling the last of its treasure.

Therefore, I encourage the people of the world to resist this deadly corrupted regime at every turn. Challenge its false preachments of democracy. Boycott its bloody dollars. Invade it with music, media and magic. Shame us the way we deserve to be shamed. Do not allow your executives to support this war machine and its campaigns of extermination. Testify to the true Christian values opposed to murder, torture, theft and arrogance, which is what keeps the Bush regime afloat.

To my fellow Americans, I ask you to hold on to your principles, your power, your ideals. Do not sell your soul to the devils of terror and murder, regardless of how patriotically it is packaged. Do not see me as your enemy, but as your most idealistic countryman. I am not an alien occupying your outlands, I am not stealing your children’s inheritance, I am not setting the world on fire in your name. I am telling you that this experiment called "America" can only exist with truth, justice, and inalienable power vested in the People. When elections fail utterly, impeachment must be carried out. It is our civic duty, and the last hope for survival.

Democracy wasn’t meant to be sold to the highest bidder, wrenched away by the most ruthless backstabbers and liars, or given to wealthy media moguls as a plaything. Democracy isn’t meant to be "tyranny of the majority," as it has become in a hatefully divided America today. Democracy should reflect the representative values of the society in which it exists, not be imposed as vengeful "victory" of a vocal and reactive minority. America’s democracy has been broken, becoming a hulking monstrosity threatening the entire world.

The Bush regime’s (alleged) "victory" is not America’s victory. The only thing America won is greater scorn and shame, corruption and death, all laced with terror. What we have lost is our legitimacy, our respect, our ideals, our peace of mind, our hopes and our treasures. All given to an arrogant, sawed-off son of a spymaster with a fake cowboy accent and his calculating cronies. Oh yes, and the Bin Ladens.

One last torch to pass in the dark: Anyone well-versed in psychological warfare should clearly have keyed in that Bush and Bin Laden are coordinating their assault on the world. Do you think a strategist such as Osama Bin Laden would suddenly appear at a critical "surprise" turning point and tell Americans not to vote for Bush, if he didn’t want them to do just that? Think about it, America, that well-timed video was as golden to Bush’s future as all the treasure squandered on smear campaigns, and as crucial to his gaining power as the 9-11 attacks.

They’ve been mining the nationalist playbook "My Struggle," written by another sawed-off, power-mad little man a generation ago. And remember it’s always the "good" religious people that carry out these campaigns of terror, extermination, and vengeance, allegedly with the blessings of their "God." Beheadings for God, death camps for God, satellite-directed nuclear bombs for God, what’s the difference in the End?

Listen to the Planet crying. Your children deserve a true Revolution today— don’t delay!

May the Forest be with You...

Boycott Bush Dollars
Why boycott?

Today more than ever, US multinationals seem to have a major impact on the policy of the US administration. Even if Bush is not re-elected in November 2004, US multinationals will continue ruling the world. For this reason we are calling for an open ended boycott campaign which will continue after the US presidential elections.

By boycotting 6 particular US multinationals who are large donors to the Republican Party, we want to put pressure on the US government to join the international community, complying with the rules of the United Nations and international law. With the military attack and invasion of Iraq in March 2003 the US acted once again as a "Rogue State" and violated the UN Charter. US government policy is increasingly marked by arrogance and self-interest.

Download and print this "Boycott Bush Dollar", containing a list of products sold around the world by Altria (Philip Morris, Kraft Foods), ExxonMobil (Esso), ChevronTexaco, PepsiCo, Coca Cola Company and McDonalds. Try to print it on recycle paper if this alternative exists in your country.

  • The power gathered by this administration outperforms any in history. We were lucky that Hitler never aquired nuclear force. We were also lucky, when he failed in his decision.
But the combination of the military industrial complex and the concentrated finance power how will anybody overcome this. Let us face it, it is better to keep a secret life of a coward then to sacrifice our lives for them or some ideas.
    We can’t change it anymoore.
