Dear Ms. Pelosi and Mr. Conyers,
I am writing this open letter to you both on the day after Veteran’s Day. A day that has so much more meaning to me since my son Casey was KIA in Iraq for absolutely no reason but to line the pockets of the war machine. I cried in front of his symbolic tombstone at Arlington Northeast in Philadelphia and I dreamed of him before I awakened. Casey’s "tombstone" was planted in the ground directly across from Liberty Hall which was the birth place of our (…)

Take a bow Cindy Sheehan, Ann Wright, Ramsey Clark, Mike Ferner, Max Obuszewski, Michael Berg, David Swanson, Rev. Jesse Jackson, Ray McGovern, Medea Benjamin and Brian Becker! You, and many other activists, like yourselves, in the Anti-Iraqi War Movement, have helped to source a sweep of GOP members from the House of Representatives, and also to return control of the (…) -

Exorcising Our Demons
Into the infancy of the 21st century has humanity somehow managed to reach, despite our insatiable addiction for violence and suffering that has for millennia been both endemic and devastating, in spite of the continued tribalism, now called the nation state, that fosters competition, ignorance, fear, hatred and war among the peoples of the world, even with the hierarchical need among peoples to perpetually follow corrupt, immoral and warmongering leadership that (…) -
removal of corrupt governments
1 November 2006 par (Open-Publishing)
It has become abundantly clear to a majority of the American people, not to mention the rest of the world, that the Bush administration has utterly failed to conduct a satisfactory investigation into the events of 9/11. There has been no satisfactory explanation for the failure of our air defenses on that day, and the suspicion that the government itself was complicit in the attacks is widespread and growing rapidly.
Since the 9/11 attacks have been used by the Bush administration to (…) -

One year after November 2005 in France
27 October 2006 par (Open-Publishing)
By La Rage du Peuple
One year after the most important urban riots in this beginning of 21th century the French suburbs burn again.
Since September, three attacks against the police are committed with stones, iron bar and Molotov cocktail. Yesterday night, fire persists around Paris, 2 buses are burned and the fight against the police and authorities continue. Isn’t the school who are taken for target, in spite of an education system which excludes in the peripheral territories. They are (…) -
The choice before Humanity

1 commentBy Alan Woods
In the first decade of the 21st century, the human race stands at the crossroads. On the one hand, the achievements of modern science and technology have provided us with the means of solving all the problems that have plagued us for all of history. We can eradicate diseases, abolish illiteracy and homelessness and make deserts bloom.
On the other hand, reality seems to mock these dreams. The discoveries of science are used to produce ever more monstrous weapons of mass (…) -

Dear People,
The USA has some real troubles. So does the world. Big troubles, and
at the same time this country is run by some folks who seem determined
to make them even worse. War in Iraq, terrorism, out-sourced jobs and
the economy, Global Warming, Katrina, and so on. A litany of woes.
It seems that only if we make immediate and major changes that global
disaster can be averted, yet our government doesn’t appear to have either (…)
