Courage and Resistance in Oaxaca and Mexico City - by Stephen Lendman
It began on May 15 this year when teachers belonging to the 70,000 strong National Union of Education Workers in Oaxaca, Mexico took to the streets for the first time to press their demands to the state government to address their long-neglected needs. They included restructuring teachers’ salaries, improving the deplorable educational infrastructure forcing teachers to conduct classes in laminated cardboard shacks, a (…)

Protest paralyzes Mexico’s Oaxaca
AP , OAXACA, MEXICO Wednesday, Aug 23, 2006,
Normally vibrant and thronged with tourists, picturesque Oaxaca City has ground to a virtual halt as protesters armed with pipes, machetes and clubs roam the cobblestone streets — burning buses, seizing media outlets and blocking highways and bus stations.
The three-month-old protest — now almost an insurrection against state Governor Ulises Ruiz — made many in Oaxaca afraid to leave their homes on (…) -

Alexis deTocqueville - "Democracy in America" 1835
Much has changed since deTocqueville, a French aristocrat visiting America for the purpose of finding solutions to the penitentiary problems in France, toured America. At least on the surface. New ethnic groups. The suburbs. The Digital Revolution. Paperless money. Super highways. Super markets. Super sized food. And (…) -

The buzz throughout the Internet is that a sizable number of those who do not buy the “official 9/11 story” that’s been shoveled to America for the past five years are coming en masse to Washington, DC in September. Apparently, many who have done careful research regarding the disturbing events that took the lives of nearly 2,800 have a great deal of information to share.
As anti-war (…) -
This Fall, We Declare Peace!

Fear is in the air again. From Dick Cheney to Joe Lieberman, the proponents of the Iraq War are once again playing the fear card to try to shore up support for their failed policies — policies that have only made us more vulnerable to attacks like the one thwarted last week in England.
Neither their overheated rhetoric, nor their color-coded warnings, nor their bloated and ineffectual "homeland security" apparatus are doing anything to keep us safer. They’re just (…) -

More then 30,000 demonstrators filled the streets around the White House today chanting, “Stop the US-Israeli war against Lebanon and Palestine.”

That is why drug usage and the culture of self absorbtion was planned and executed by the New World Order starting with the advent of advertising (public mind control) combined with the works of psycho-analysis and understanding how to scientifically PUSH (…)

Just who is it then, who is making matters worse on this sadly violent little planet? Surely it’s the Godless heathens and Socialists, right?
Surely it’s the American enemies: Countries like France, Cuba, Russia, China, Venezuela, Bolivia, Spain. Socialist regimes and dictatorships who are, so the State Department (…) -

Dear United for Peace & Justice,
You have waged lame campaigns asking for action and money in the past, but this one absolutely takes the cake.
Once upon a time I thought you were only misguided and merely just out of your Cotton Pickin’ Mind. Now it’s beyond transparent that your obvious ineffectiveness indicates the existence of an organization that carefully selects its projects and campaigns as totally futile and lame - on (…)
