by Cindy Sheehan, Crawford, Texas
A photographer friend of mine went down to Crawford to the Pro-War, Anti-Peace rally today. There were about 1500 people there he said. He also said that it was the most "third reich" spectacle that he had ever seen in America.
My friend said that the speakers were whipping up the crowd into a frenzy of hatred for me (like they already didn’t hate me?) and for the peace movement. My friend said that the entire theme of the rally was: "Cindy is killing (…)

Galloway to go on anti-war tour of US with Jane Fonda

George Galloway, the anti-war MP for Bethnal Green and Bow who rocked the US Senate earlier this year, is to be accompanied on a speaking tour of America by the actress and activist Jane Fonda.
Few things are more likely to antagonise US conservatives than the combination of Mr Galloway and Ms Fonda - still hated by the right because of her outspoken opposition to the war in Vietnam - joining to condemn the American presence in Iraq. But Mr Galloway can expect a (…) -
Crawford Peace House takes donations meant for Cindy Sheehan and protesters and pays off mortgage

2 commentsDoes anyone else think this is a little selfish? How can they feel good about taking the donations and paying off their mortgage even before the protest is over? It sort of seems like the mentality of a repubican, to always think of themselves first.
They could have instead used the protest money to rent more camping and parking space to enable the protest to grow. Instead they were sending folks away.
"According to Ann Wright, camp coordinator, they are thrilled with the number of (…) -

I finally figured out George Bush’s NEW reason for staying in Iraq. This reason has also been co-opted by the Move America Forward (forward to what: Fascism?) and the poor mothers who would be honored if their sons were killed in George Bush’s war for greed and power.
Since the Freedom and Democracy thing is not going so well and the Iraqi parliament is having such a hard time writing their constitution, since violence is mounting against Iraqis and Americans, and since (…) -
Where is Peace?

2 commentsby Monica Benderman War is promoted. Anti-war responds. Anti-war protests. War counters. Somewhere in the middle is the truth. Peace. Freedom to make a choice.
Sgt. Kevin Benderman sits in confinement at Ft. Lewis, Washington. His crime? Making a choice. He chose Peace.
It’s not about one side winning and the other side losing. Not to Sgt. Benderman. It’s about having knowledge. We all have the right to know the truth about our options, and to be educated in our choices. We (…) -

We’re Inviting George and Laura to join us for some good food and conversation. We have a few questions to ask him!
The vigil of Cindy Sheehan and the other families and veterans in Crawford has struck a chord with the American people. Like these Gold Star moms, we ask the President to take a few moments of his five week vacation to tell them why brave Americans like Casey Sheehan have been sent to their deaths in Iraq.
Cindy has also (…) -
BUSH REGIME ROTTEN TO THE CORE

6 commentsDETROIT — A storm of anti-war protests and sentiment is sweeping across the nation. Finally, reality and truth are trumping President George W. Bush’s lies. Even the perpetual propaganda machine of the corporate media can no longer manufacture consent for Bush’s monstrously bad policies and decisions.
A storm of anti-war protests and sentiment is sweeping While most Americans work and struggle with lower wages, a sputtering economy and rising gas prices, Bush still basks in the Texas sun (…) -

Today when I was driving back and forth between Camp Casey II and the Crawford Peace House, I saw a lot of signs that say "I’m4W" "Support our Troops" and the one I hate the most: "Freedom isn’t Free." I have excerpted an article I wrote a few months ago called: A Lie of Historic Proportions. I am not feeling well tonight, so I am heading to bed before six a.m. tonight.
Iraq has been the tragic Lie of Historic Proportions of Washington, DC since before the first Gulf (…) -

By Jake Palmateer
A Sharon Springs Vietnam veteran has joined Cindy Sheehan and other anti-war activists outside President Bush’s Crawford, Texas, ranch.
Elliott Adams, 58, a member of the national organization Veterans for Peace, flew into Waco on Thursday afternoon to relieve fellow members of the group who are returning to New York City.
Adams said the flight from Dallas-Fort Worth was "a little bumpy" and (…) -
Poll: Many back right to protest Iraq war

WASHINGTON - An overwhelming number of people say critics of the Iraq war should be free to voice their objections - a rare example of widespread agreement about a conflict that has divided the nation along partisan lines.
Nearly three weeks after a grieving California mother named Cindy Sheehan started her anti-war protest near President Bush’s Texas ranch, nine of 10 people surveyed in an AP-Ipsos poll say it’s OK for war opponents to publicly share their concerns about (…)
