August 20, 2005: young woman is held to the ground and tasered at a counter-recruitment demonstration in Pittsburgh, PA. An older woman is bitten by a police dog and then arrested. If you’ve ever traveled to Colombia, then you’ve seen the DAS, the government’s Administrative Department for Security. As soon as you get off the plane, DAS employees are there to stamp your passport and, perhaps, to ask why you’re visiting.

1 commentIn the early morning hours of June 14, armed federal and state police accompanied by helicopters dropping tear-gas grenades attacked an encampment of teachers in the center of Oaxaca, Mexico. According to news reports, after first being driven out of the town center, teachers armed themselves with rocks and sticks and fought back against the ferocious police assault. Alex Jones and his team were detained by Canadian immigration on orders of the Bilderberg Group for a 15 hour nightmare of interrogation, accusations and threats of arrests in anticipation of the conference in Ottawa which starts today.
The group were detained at 11:45pm last night and only released after 2pm today.

Chilean President Michelle Bachelet announced Wednesday the firing of the head of the riot police and severely condemned the ’excesses’ committed by over-zealous Carabineros during the violent repression Tuesday in Santiago of protesting students.
"We will not accept condemnable acts such as those we saw yesterday" she said during a joint press conference at the presidential palace next to the head of the reporters’ guild, Alejandro Guillier.

OLYMPIA - A protest became a melee on Olympia’s waterfront Tuesday as sheriff’s deputies arrested 22 people who stormed the port’s gate. And war protesters were back on the line Wednesday night — as are the deputies.
The protesters hope to disrupt shipments of war supplies heading to Iraq.
