Sort of an answer to Mike Malloy’s question on Springer On The Radio this a.m. :

Governments USA

Dear Mike,

You asked what Bush has done to make things better for the majority of the countries citizens. Name even ONE THING you said.

I think that Bush has, through his cronies at Diebold and ES&S and Sequoia, managed one feat to make it EASIER for the majority of U.S. Citizens.

He’s made it easier for the 53% of lazy asses that don’t go to the polls to justify screwing off the elections. After all, Karl Rove can just sit in the White House basement and dial up the central tabulators and vote for them. Now they don’t have to bother for sure. Hmmm...seems to me he might have to appoint a "vote specialist" once he goes behind bars, though. Tsk, tsk, pesky little indictments, hmm?

Yeah, isn’t the Help America Vote Act a great thing? Now you don’t have to worry, because the Republicans will either make sure you voted properly or just dial up and do it for you!

Yep, good ol’ Dial-A-Vote! What wonderful wing nut fun! Give me hand-counted paper ballots with multiple witnesses at the polls and results reported to every possible media outlet right at the precinct level any day.

I’m a senior telecommunications technician. I’ve worked on computers for years and even built a few of my own from parts, and had my 12 year old son build one. I don’t trust my vote to computers for SQUAT! Bits on a flash card are as ephemeral as an idea, nothing better than a myth.

The really bad part is, even if you have a voter-verified paper trail to go back to, what is going to prompt a recount? If the election doesn’t look tainted, they won’t bother, no matter what the exit polls say. After all, we had a 5% discrepancy in Ohio in 2004, but the "news" media said nada peep. They sure were sqawkin’ on that 1.8% discrepancy in Uzbekistan or Ukraine or whatever that didn’t go the Bushpushers’ way, though, weren’t they?

Yep, the Bushwackers have made one thing easier for the majority 53% of sorry citizens that didn’t vote in the last election. But that’s still only sort of an answer to your question. Notice that i never said it made it better for them.

And it took a highly progressive liberal to even come up with that. Bet the wing nuts couldn’t even give ya that much, hmm?

Let’s all pray that Mr. Fitzgerald gives us real Americans a big fat Turdblossom in black -n- white stripes Christmas present this October, shall we?

Sincerely,
