Of course this was extremely toxic dust, but rather than alarm the public, the EPA blatantly lied, "to boost morale" by re-opening Wall St.

What kind of people would put thousands at risk to "boost morale"?

This huge lie could help open the eyes of millions of Americans- many still dismiss the unanswered questions about 9/11 because, who could believe their gov’t willfully killed 3,000 citizens to justify launching wars in the Middle East?

Well it turns out this statement will be responsible for many more than 3,000 deaths.

This lady looks very prim and proper- who would suspect that she is responsible for the deaths of a 100,000 New Yorkers. Just because their deaths are slow and painful rather than instantaneous, that doesn’t make the crime any less despicable.

The dust blew all over lower Manhattan and across Brooklyn, affecting between 250,000 and 400,000 people. Two days after the terrorist attacks, the head of the US Environmental Protection Agency, Christine Todd Whitman, issued a statement saying that the air was safe to breathe. Cautionary statements in a draft press release that talked about even low levels of asbestos exposure being hazardous were deleted. The final press release said short-term, low-level exposure was "unlikely to cause significant health effects".

The EPA’s inspector-general concluded that these statements were seriously flawed.

The judge refused to give Whitman immunity, calling her actions "conscience-shocking".

Recently it was confirmed the death of James Zadroga was caused by his breathing extreme amounts of dust during the WTC cleanup.

A class action lawsuit and families of recovery workers have alleged that more than two dozen deaths are related to exposure to trade centre dust, which doctors believe contained toxic chemicals, including asbestos, among more than 1 million tonnes of debris.

Zadroga was not the first to die- just the first person whose autopsy makes it official. The other two dozen that have already died were also relatively young- even Zadroga’s 29 yr old wife died (heart problems) before he did. Could her medical problems have been partly due to the post 9/11 air quality?

Last June, Timothy Keller, an emergency medical technician, died of heart disease complicated by bronchitis and emphysema. He had become sick about a year after the terrorist attacks, but the city denied there was a connection between his condition and the World Trade Centre attacks.

Eventually he received a partial payout. He became too sick to work and too indebted to fill his prescriptions. He died aged 41.

Is this an America we can be proud of? Where this 9/11 cleanup worker died because because he couldn’t afford his prescriptions? Of course not.

But of course the real crime was the lie to New Yorkers that it was ok to return to work. That it was ok to clean up toxic dust with a wet cloth. Hazmat suits with oxygen tanks would have been more appropriate, but that would have been bad PR.

Dozens have already died from breathing the toxic dust, thousands more are already afflicted with the "WTC Cough", and many more will not even notice the effects for years to come- nonetheless their pain, suffering and ultimately their early deaths will be the direct result of Christine Todd Whitman’s patently false statement that the air was "safe to breathe".

Wake Up America! By putting profits before people, the Liars in suits and ties are responsible for many more deaths than Bin Laden and al-Qaeda.
