Three Mid-term Election Issues that Matter

Governments USA

Allow me just a moment of your time to outline what I believe are the ONLY THREE ISSUES on which all candidates for Congressional elections should run.

These three issues are central to the immediate future of our nation and every candidate - Democrat and Republican alike - should be forced to take a strong public stance on these critical issues.

In order of importance:

1. Impeachment of the President and Vice President for (take your pick) lying us into war in Iraq, stealing the 2004 election, breaking the law by illegally wiretapping American citizens, leaking classified information (the Valerie Plame-Wilson case), other various crimes and treasonous activity.

2. Immediate withdrawal and removal of our troops from Iraq. There is no argument on this issue. It’s been a colossal failure for which we will need to make reparations.

3. Repeal of the Patriot Act. This law must be repealed in entirety. The proof is that so few arrests have been made through use of the Patriot Act that it is superfluous. American justice survived perfectly well within the parameters of our Constitution for over 200 years and there simply is no reason to have this profoundly repressive law on the backs of the US citizenry.

All others issues can be handled once these three are taken to account. Election reform, health care, taxes, campaign finance reform, etc., will all be handled by a new Congress which understands that their constituents are American CITIZENS, not lobbyists for globalist corporate interests.

That’s all, for now. Put these issues first. Forget everything else and force the politicians to say: yes, I will support or co-sponsor impeachment legislation; Yes, I will vote to remove our troops from Iraq at the soonest possible moment; Yes, I will support or co-sponsor legislation to repeal the Patriot Act in entirety.

  • well said, but it want matter how many actual votes you could get, you would have to have a door to door campaign in all 435 districts. someone should start organizing this now. get captains in each district. then the captains appoint 5 to 10 commanders that break down the district into equal voters between the commanders, everyone of these men are guilty. it isnt just bush, zny way you get the gist , and i know of noone that is really doing much on a national scale. the votes would be there , with a door to door campaign , with 435 consolidated candidates. mississippi is out already because their filing period has ended. with the same agenda you are correct. it would have to be won like rove did, the man is an ass, but he knows how to can everything into a do nothing catch phrase. i know this isnt what is wanted , but it would be wize to stick to 3issues like you have and maybe do a national polling through the captains to try and determine which other issues are going to be hot in their areas.. once captains and commanders are assembled then they should first start an aggressive emails and phone campaign to see where the eager areas to gain the recruits doing the groundwork. take to heart that these captains would need to consider how much area that congressional district is and not pull all their commanders from the same area, they should be deployed just like in a military. positioned strategically is more the gist so they arent traveling so far once the groundwork starts. you would also have to have a notary with you for this to have any relevance in todays neocon world also. all i am trying to say is that it could be done , still yet, but would have to do something extreme to get noticed by media as well, in todays world even negative advertizing works because well we all know why, no knowledge of you no recognition. the party would need a good name. there is one attemting something similar that i know of , www.benfrank.net you might want to talk with him, he writes occasionally on here. you can contact me at rxgary@peoplepc.com. if you are interested in trying to work up a legitimate strategy, i am game. i would not want to run , but i would help try and get us started , if anyone has any ideas put in subject election reform or i will just delete. but we need to try something. anyon else ? any ideas? i got one that would get every one fired up or at least it does me. anyone else taste the way milk has changed. like it has jet fuel in it now or something.anyway get the gist , it doesnt all ways take drumming the same old drums to get noticed, you cant be left wing looney bizzare, but you have to have a kicker, oh well i hope we do something , cause i think the usa winds up in default in about 3 weeks anyway, and the way our laws are now , they will declare martial law, they will impound anything of yours they deem necessary as good for the country. its gonna happen , they have everything in place now , that they want except for your guns and they figure with 3 million merceneries that want matter, hey whats paying a few people for a what 80 trillion in real estate maybe? just guessing. but noone is safe here from this criminal regime.

  • It doesn’t matter what platform you run on and which issues you address, Diebold, ED&S, the RNC, etc. will make sure that you don’t register enough votes to cause any trouble to the "leadership" of the country. You will probably end up with a negative number of votes.

  • Impeachment is a wonderful idea. Get rid of both Bush and Cheney. But what would that get us? Here is the list of successors:

    Dennis Hastert
    Ted Stevens
    Condoleezza Rice
    John Snow
    Donald Rumsfeld
    Alberto Gonzales
and on and on and on

How low would we have to go to get somebody who was a moral person? I see no one on this list who qualifies.

    • We need to stop these bastards before they kill again!

When democrats finally go on the offence and demand impeachment, the Bush administration will be forced to answer for their illegal activities and it will slow them down in their plans to kill more. We all can see they have Iran in their sights, and venezuela....and perhaps syria....

  • um Rick Gagliano....can you run for congress?!?

    • I can, but I reside in the Congressional district represented by the honorable Louise Slaughter, a Democrat who has fought the administration tooth and nail on every issue and will, I believe, support impeachment. Besides, she’s pretty much a lock to win with over 65% of the vote.

In the end, I don’t want to run for congress. I just want to influence it and I can do that well enough as a private citizen. Thanks for the thoughts, though.
