The Chicago Tribune reported in section 1 on page 5 Friday that 14 members of the Waveland, Miss. Police Department survived the hurricane surge waters by clinging to an eight foot tall bush in the yard for dear life. They plan to transplant it to a memorial site when the new police station is built. Somehow, I doubt they will be singing "Hail To The Chief" in remembrance.

But the jackals and hyenas in the current hub of power in d.c. (comics) refuse all offers to help, saying that this is an "internal affair".

As the aftermath of hurricane Katrina continues to wreak mayhem and havoc amid reports of mass looting, shooting at rescue helicopters, rapes and murders, establishment media organs are promoting the Red Cross as a worthy organization to give donations to.
The biggest website in the world, Yahoo.com, displays a Red Cross donation link prominently on its front page. (…) -

It’s just sooo heart warming to see how the "biggies" plunder the U.S. Treasury. Send 25,000 desperate people 750-800 miles to the Houston dome (which has little or no rental income) and the G.O.P. "biggies" are only going to charge "Uncle Sam" $3,750,000.00" ($150.00 per person per day) WOW !!!

In a dramatic turnabout, the United States is now on the receiving end of help from around the world as some two dozen countries offer post-hurricane assistance.
Venezuela, a target of frequent criticism by the Bush administration, offered humanitarian aid and fuel. Venezuela’s Citgo Petroleum Corp. pledged a $1 million donation for hurricane aid.

Storm victims were raped and beaten, fights and fires broke out, corpses lay out in the open, and rescue helicopters and law enforcement officers were shot at as flooded-out New Orleans descended into anarchy Thursday. "This is a desperate SOS," the mayor said.
