WASHINGTON — Organizers are planning what they say will be the largest anti-war demonstration in the nation’s capital since the Iraq war began in March 2003.
The ANSWER Coalition and United for Peace and Justice detailed their plans Thursday for the Sept. 24 protest. They plan to bus in people from across the country for a march past the White House. Other major protests are planned that day in San Francisco and Los Angeles.

THE SHIP OF STATE IS SUNK
by Mark Kato
If anyone has had any doubts about George W. Bush’s utter lack of leadership, the disaster now visiting New Orleans and Biloxi should provide ample proof that this man who many believe illegally inhabits the White House is unfit to be President of the United States of America. Indeed, George W. Bush is unfit to be dogcatcher, and it would be an insult to the canine world if he held such a modest office. In equal measure, but infinitely more (…) -
Global Warming and Widespread Blackouts Are Just as Deadly as Terrorism

Two years ago this month, a Blackout plunged 50 million people in Northeastern U.S. and the Canadian province of Ontario into total darkness for more than a day, wreaking havoc on the U.S. economy. Now, it’s the devastation in Louisiana, Alabama, and Mississippi wrought by Hurricane Katrina that has killed hundreds, perhaps thousands of people.
The common thread in both disasters is that energy and environmental experts sounded early alarms about the potential for (…) -

After a 26-day vigil that ignited the anti-war movement, Cindy Sheehan took her protest on the road Wednesday, while a handful of veterans pledged to continue camping off the road leading to President Bush’s ranch until the war in Iraq ends.
Rather than heading home to California, the mother of a 24-year-old soldier who died in Iraq boarded one of three buses heading out on tour to spread her message.

Sheehan, war protesters leave camp
1 September 2005 par (Open-Publishing)
Dozens of war opponents on Wednesday left their makeshift campsite near President Bush’s ranch after a 26-day roadside vigil that drew thousands and ignited the anti-war movement.
Cindy Sheehan, a fallen soldier’s mother who arrived in Bush’s adopted hometown Aug. 6 and refused to leave until he talked to her, boarded one of several buses heading on a tour to continue spreading her message.
"This is where I’m going to spend every August from now on," Sheehan said as she smiled and waved (…) -

It Was the Oil, Stupid
by Cindy Sheehan, Crawford, TX
"If Zarqawi and bin Laden gain control of Iraq, they would create a new training ground for future terrorist attacks," Bush said. "They’d seize oil fields to fund their ambitions. They could recruit more terrorists by claiming a historic victory over the United States and our coalition."(George Bush, August 30, 2005 in San Diego.)
So it is official, Casey had his blood shed in Iraq for OIL. He died so we could pay over 3.00/gallon (…) -

Goodbye to Crawford But Not to Camp Casey
While George golfed yesterday, the worst hurricane ever struck New Orleans; oil went up to over 68.00/barrel; and an American soldier was killed in the charade and cataclysmic occupation of Iraq. The soldier’s family doesn’t even know what’s going to hit them yet. The death is "Pending Notification." I continually ask myself: "How do George Bush and other death-mongers live with themselves?" While George vacations (…) -

To My Fellow Americans,
It is especially important in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina to remind the American people that while this absentee government approved of the war in Iraq and spent billions doing so, these funds could have been better used to clean up after such catastrophes.
As corporations who run our government made out like bandits where our government gave them billions and with the tax breaks to those who do not need it, this is our time to fight (…) -
Buchanan’s Subtle Hint at Impeachment

Near the end of his August 29 editorial, entitled "A national emergency" on the failure of the Bush administration to halt illegal immigration, conservative columnist Patrick Buchanan suggested, "Some courageous Republican, to get the attention of this White House, should drop into the hopper a bill of impeachment, charging George W. Bush with a conscious refusal to uphold his oath and defend the states of the Union against ’invasion’."
Buchanan, at one time a presidential speech (…) -
