The Fall of the House of Bush
9 June 2005 par (Open-Publishing)
3 comments"We will not walk in fear, one of another. We will not be driven by fear into an age of unreason, if we dig deep in our history and our doctrine; and remember that we are not descended from fearful men. Not from men who feared to write, to speak, to associate, and to defend causes that were for the moment unpopular... We can deny our heritage and our history, but we cannot escape responsibility for the result."

GULAG, SHMOOLAG

When Amnesty International described U.S. anti-terrorist prisons as “the Gulag of our time”, it gave the Bush Administration the ideal gift for the politician who has nothing: An opportunity to change the subject.
Its over-the-top and historically dubious language allowed the president, the vice-president, the secretary of defense and many other Bushies to get everyone focused on syntax and away from the prisoner abuse issue.
This is the second goodie the (…) -

USA Today Editor: We couldn’t find The Memo
9 June 2005 par (Open-Publishing)
1 commentAt the end of this article, the USA Today editor explains why they haven’t printed anything on the memo until now, more than a month later: "We could not obtain the memo or a copy of it from a reliable source..." Sure. We’re supposed to believe that nobody at USA Today could find the link to the original article by the TimesOnline.uk? Blair’s office did not deny the authenticity, validating it as a source, and USA Today didn’t cover it for a month because it exposes Bush’s LIES. Ironically, (…)

8 June 2005 par (Open-Publishing)
4 commentsCoup d’etat Against George W. Bush Seriously Contemplated In Washington Bob Chapman June 08, 2005 THE INTERNATIONAL FORECASTER editor Bob Chapman writes: Rumors have been circulating in Washington for the last year that a coup d’etat against George W. Bush and the neocons is being seriously contemplated in certain circles.
Within the military, because of the non-traditional use of the military and among high-level businessmen who see Bush as a disaster for American business ... (…) -
Wreck It And Run
8 June 2005 par (Open-Publishing)
Wreck It And Run William Lind June 02, 2005 Among the many unhappy developments in American industry in recent decades has been the advent of "wreck it and run" management. A small coterie of senior managers takes over a company and makes a brilliant show of short-term profits while actually driving the business into the ground. They bail out just before it crashes, cashing in their stock options as they go, and leave the employees, ordinary stockholders and customers holding an empty bag. (…)

8 June 2005 par (Open-Publishing)
The Associated Press appears to have errantly revised a question asked by a Reuters reporter about the Downing Street minutes, RAW STORY has discovered.
The AP transcript says the reporter asked a question which included the phrase, "intelligence and facts remain fixed" around the policy of removing Saddam Hussein, whereas the official White House transcript and account by the Washington Post asserted the reporter said "intelligence and facts were being fixed around the policy of removing (…) -
BUSH REASSURES THE PUBLIC

2 commentsBUSH REASSURES THE PUBLIC
By Peter Fredson
June 8, 2005
It was reassuring to hear, over the past several days, that George Bush and Tony Blair had only the best of attentions toward Saddam Hussein. They both denied any nasty memo charging them with plotting war against Iraq. They both reassured their publics that they had only peaceful intentions. In fact, both of them used the word “peace” several times. Would they do that to mislead? Are we not reassured by their sincerity?

Downing Street Memo, Say What?
“In exchange for our uniformed young people’s willingness to offer the gift of their lives, civilian Americans owe them something important: It is our duty to ensure that they never are called to make that sacrifice unless it is truly necessary for the security of the country. In the case of Iraq, the American public has failed them; we did not prevent the Bush administration from spending their blood in an unnecessary war based on contrived (…)
