What the Hell is Congress doing? Government lying and corruption has been exposed like never before and Congress is still naming Post Offices! After the ground-breaking Downing Street Memo Hearing last month- Bush and Cheney should be under full investigation if not behind bars by now.
Most DC Democrats won’t even talk about the memo...
... and those that do only go so far as to ask for an inquiry. The evidence is already public knowledge- we don’t need no stinkin’ inquiry, we need impeachment hearings- Now! Instead we have a bunch of Democrats following the media and talking about Rove.
Sure, outing a CIA agent is bad, especially in this case because it wasn’t an accident- Rove ’leaked’ Plame’s name five days after her husband Joe Wilson wrote an article exposing Bush’s Uranium from Niger lie. Rove’s ’leak’ was a dirty trick which most likely resulted in the deaths of all of Plame’s contacts around the globe- directly undermining our National Security- so yes this is bad, but it’s still relatively minor.
More important than the leak is the Uranium from Niger lie Bush told America. This is direct evidence of Bush & Co ’fixing the facts’ just as Downing Street Memo described. What the bleep more does Congress need to investigate? And what about Ray McGovern’s exposé of Cheney’s big lie at last month’s hearing. They flat out lied and just look at the consequences of that lie - thousands dead, thousands suffering in our broken economy, kids getting hounded by recruiters... What the Hell is Congress doing!
I don’t care if there are only ten House Democrats willing to call for it- they should still be introducing articles of impeachment and raising hell to make this public knowledge and exposing the other 425 members of Congress. Instead they’ve done absolutely nothing since the DSM hearing. This week they’re holding house parties and collecting more signatures- what good is that going to do?
"There is no doubt" - remember how Bush and Cheney both used that phrase regarding Iraq’s WMDs? Well it turns out that was total BS- they terrorized America with threats (Mike Malloy mp3) when in fact, there were none. What the bleep is Congress doing?!
We invaded and killed thousands of people, in turn generating more Hatred for America than ever before, tanking our economy, committing genocide, and the Democratic Leadership wants to take away Rove’s security clearance- that’s the best they’ve got?
Bush and Cheney are still running the country because the Democrats in Congress are letting them get away with murder. Rather than speaking out in this hour of darkness, they are complicit in the coverup.
That’s why I suggest we Sweep The House in 2006
There’s still plenty of time for you, a regular citizen to declare your candidacy for Congress. What if we could bypass the mainstream media and the fake democrats and fake republicans buying tv time and looking spiffy for their photo ops... what if we the people ran, 435 of us, regular citizens to replace the career politicians. It only costs $100 filing fee in some states, others it’s $3,000 or 3,000 signatures, but still... it could be worth it.
Everyone knows the system is corrupt, but how do we change it... by running a Citizen Candidate in every district and using the grassroots organizing capability of the internet, we can win on almost zero campaign financing. Everyone knows- the corruption is very visible - it’s not about Democrats vs Republicans, it’s about We The People reclaiming our government.

I could think of nothing else better for our country then getting rid of the current power brokers running the country. To symbolize change, it would be fun to imply, we need to change the make up of congress, all of them. The real effort, however, should be to focus on maximizing what we can do, and make sure it gets done. We must not do too little or come up short from reaching too far.
When I see the list of people involved in trying to stop this war, I see the making of a witness list. Here is where the power of organization could make or break a case for impeachment of this President. Included in a plan of attack has to be something to counter the Republicans manipulation and usual misleading of the facts. We also need the focus and emotional commitment to drive home the damage this administration has perpetrated on the American people. Somehow Bush has to be held accountable for the hurt his action has inflected on real human beings. Lives lost involving our nations young can generate the example of hurt. If we roll up our sleeves to show on a personal level the killing of men women and children of Iraq for reasons he lied about, we can also generate the same image of a killer, just like Sadam. It can be done; we just need someone to put it together.

Bush in league with his neoconservatives, True Believer Christians, Corporate sponsors and Muslim haters has successfully suborned the Republican party. The Oval Office is now part and parcel of the Dominionists, Reconstructionist, Army of God people. The entire Republican part of Congress is lined up behind Bush, solidly, illustrating that if they don’t hang together, they might hang separately. Nothing Bush has proposed, no matter how stupid, no matter how he attacks the Constitution, affects any of the Republican Senators.
His religious ravings and pretensions have been swallowed whole by large numbers of Christians. Fortunately not all have been fooled, but they are powerless to affect this administration. The neoconservatives want the U.S. to bully the world, to dominate totally, to make the UN an instrument of Bush policy and if they can’t swing that, then they would destroy the UN totally. The corporations love the war that Bush lied us into. They are making vast fortunes from national disaster, from our war dead, from our war wounded, from destroying large parts of Iraq, from stealing their resources, and from building permanent bases in Iraq from which they can launch preemptive strikes against Iran and Syria. No one investigates the immense corruption caused by the Bush-Cheney corporations because all the legal affairs are safely in the hands of Bush and his sycophants, who assure Bush that he is probably above any man-made law.
But recently some Democrats have finally come around to strongly suggest that Bush et. al lies daily and that his administration is a failure. Finally a few voices are talking Impeachment. Not any Republicans of course...they got tired trying to impeach Clinton and they love the lies that Bush tells. Why not? They are rich people, getting richer, with fabulous retirements and enormous benefits. They are in the cat-bird seat and have no intention of getting their fat behinds out of that seat. They have no intention of enlisting in any army, no intention of laying down their lives for their country as they would rather lay down YOUR life for their country. Much more satisfactory for them while they wave flags with both hands. What a despicable pack of rascals!
