Dan Qayyum | Editor, PKKH
After 9 years of maintaining an expensive presence on Afghan soil, thousands of lives and billions wasted in aid and reconstruction efforts, not to forget bribes to warlords and drug barons, the US and its allies have come up with a real gem of an idea – trying to buy themselves a safe exit from the Afghan mess for a (…)

Lord Goldsmith was making a further attempt to shift responsibility for the Iraq war
Philippe Marlière
guardian.co.uk, Thursday 28 January 2010 22.30 GMT

Restore the Power to the People: Amend the Constitution!
28 January 2010¿Plata o plomo? Colombian and Mexican drug gangs ask government officials, judges and police officers which they prefer, “silver or lead,” when offering bribes and threatening violence.
The U.S. Supreme Court decision granting corporations the same free speech rights as natural persons allows them to spend unlimited amounts of money to influence elections and public affairs.
Corporations, foreign and domestic, can now force politicians to choose silver or lead when supporting or (…) -

28 January 2010By Steve Watson
Airports serving as trial grounds for the prison planet
The clamor to ramp up airport security with invasive naked body imaging scanners has nothing to do with ensuring the safety of travelers. Rather it is part of an ongoing incremental push to break the will of the people and encourage mass subservience and meek obedience.
Perhaps the most alarming aspect of the body scanner push is that people are willingly accepting it. As Bloomberg news reports today, “Passenger (…) -
Proposed draconian punishment for Australian anti-coal demonstrators invading power plants
28 January 2010The State of Victoria, Australia, is the worst carbon polluting state in the worst carbon polluting country in the World. Most of Victoria’s electricity comes from the burning of brown coal at huge power stations like Loy Yang and Hazelwood in the eastern Victorian region called Gippsland.
Unfortunately Victoria is ruled by a right wing, pro-coal Labor Government that is busy building superhighways, fossil fuel-burning power stations and a huge desalination plant. The extreme right wing, (…) -
