Normally, I do not like to write columns mirroring he said/she said, but in this case I will do so. I just read Drew Raines reaction to my piece in which he stated, "I’ve read Mary MacElveen’s article and fully agree with what she has said EXCEPT that in the real world Chavez can’t monitor EVERYTHING at all times."

Following the bombings of Beirut by Israel, there is a danger that the US sponsored Middle East war, which is at present characterized by three distinct war theaters (Afghanistan, Palestine and Iraq) will escalate and extend to the entire Middle East - Central Asian region.

How Israel mistook an "aircraft rigged with explosives" for a missile, as the Associated Press reports, is not explained. However, blaming Iran certainly fits the picture, as both Israel and the United States are trying to drag Iran and Syria into Israel’s invasion of Lebanon and thus widen the conflict, as planned.
