Le commissaire européen à l’Energie Günther Oettinger a qualifié, mardi 15 mars, l’accident nucléaire au Japon d’"apocalypse", estimant que les autorités locales avaient pratiquement perdu le contrôle de la situation dans la centrale de Fukushima.
"On parle d’apocalypse et je crois que le mot est particulièrement bien choisi", a-t-il déclaré devant une commission du Parlement européen à Bruxelles.

1 commentaireContrairement aux déclarations du porte-parole du gouvernement, le niveau de radioactivité sur le site de Fukushima n’aurait pas diminué.
Les ingénieurs présents sur les lieux sont en effet obligés de relâcher l’hydrogène (contaminée) pour alléger la pression présente dans les cuves et les enceintes de confinement.
Une opération qui aurait libéré aux environs de la centrale jusqu’à 400 millisieverts (unité de mesure des effets des radiations dans un organisme égale à un millième de (…) -

L’Autorité de sûreté nucléaire (ASN) a confirmé lundi soir la "fusion partielle" des coeurs des réacteurs 1, 2 et 3 de la centrale nucléaire de Fukushima-1 frappée par le tsunami après le séisme du 11 mars. Ce sont par ailleurs 4 des 6 réacteurs qui ont explosé du fait d’une concentration d’hydrogène, dispersant des matières radioactives aux alentours. Dans un rayon de 30 km, les habitants doivent rester calfeutrés chez eux.
