Bolivia Governors Call to Defend Democracy
by PRENSA LATINA - Open-Publishing - Wednesday 27 June 2012La Paz, Jun 26 (Prensa Latina) The governors from eight of the nine departments in Bolivia sent today a message to the people repudiating conspiracy plans to destabilize the government and promote a coup.
The document -save Gov. Rubén Costas (of Santa Cruz) eternal critic of President Evo Morales- warns against Plan Tipnis ad condemns the conspirators´ schemes and goals.
This plan is designed to generate instability of the government the Bolivian people elected democratically."
It reminds of the deep political, social and economic changes the country underwent "over the past six years, showing sustained, harmonic and balanced achievements that even world bodies have recognized."
Also, it condemns and repudiates "the conspiracy plans and seditious groups that are promoting violence and whose goal is to promote a coup via the Tipnis Plan," and calls to dialogue as the sole mechanism to settle every demand or sectorial vindication within rationality, adjusting to reality and to the country´s real possibilities."
The document concludes with a "call to rural and urban organizations and to the people of Bolivia to defend democracy and the process of changes with Constitutional President Juan Evo Morales Ayma in command, through peaceful and democratic actions and mechanisms.
