Esther Rantzen Isn’t Believable

According to a Telegraph article published last August, Esther Rantzen, the founder of ChildLine, was herself a sex abuse victim. In a revealing video, Rantzen says that a "relative" abused her but that her mother didn’t believe the story.
Well, perhaps she wasn’t telling the truth then.
Rantzen has recently been making shocking claims against Jimmy Savile and many people will be quick to accept her statements because she was the founder of a children’s charity that deals with any issue which causes distress or concern, including child abuse, bullying, parental separation or divorce, pregnancy and substance misuse.
But isn’t it just as likely that having failed to convince her mother that a member of their family had sexually abused her when she was young that she’d latch onto the chance to publically accuse (and be believed) another person, anyone, who is suspected of sexual abuse of a child?
If you can’t quite accept that then ask yourself why when she "heard the rumours" about Jimmy Savile, as she claims, she didn’t act immediately. Don’t you think she would have made authorities aware of what she’d been told, given that she claims to be an abuse victim herself?
I don’t know if she was lying to her mother or to whoever will listen now, but I am confident that Rantzen is a liar and I suspect that in either case it would have been for the attention she so badly craves.
I also suspect that if these allegations about Savile can be pushed long and hard enough the charity that he founded will be forced to wind itself up and the proceeds of Savile’s work, the money collected by the entertainer throughout his lifetime, will dispersed to other similar charities, like ChildLine, and so I ask myself who benefits or will benefit from these stories?
If there wasn’t any money associated with Savile and if he was here to refute these ridiculous claims, I wonder if we would have ever heard the allegations?

I agree with everything you say apart from your last 2 paragraphs were you suggest that because Savile’s dead he’s probably innocent of the allegations. With over 300 allegations there is no doubt he was a serial child molester. He doesn’t need to be here to answer the allegations. Also there are potential accomplices that I’m very sure will be charged in connection with these allegations. These include at least 2 doctors. Just because horse teeth is a noted liar and wouldn’t know the truth if it tickled her private parts doesn’t mean Savile’s not guilty of at least some of the 300 plus allegations that have been made against him. There is no smoke without fire.
