Human Rights Brigades "Faisal Sergio Tapia" in defense of Palestinian People

BEIRUT-Lebanon.- From Beirut and Latin America, launch the Human Rights Brigades "Faisal Sergio Tapia" in defense of Palestinian People, as a peace movement of volunteers and human rights activists around the world from different social organizations from Lebanon and Latin America, in defense of the Palestinian cause, for the freedom of the palestinian prisoners through pacifism, non-violent resistance, vision is of a world in which every person enjoys all of the human rights enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and other international human rights standards.

They decided to support the freedom of palestinian prisoners, inspired by the open letter was sent to Israel government authorities signed by Faisal Sergio Tapia, Human Rights Defender on Hunger Strike since March 1º -stating he would directly offer his life in exchange that SAMER ISSAWI IS MADE FREE.

With that said, we as WORLDWIDE activists firmly stand behind to Faisal Tapia human rights defender, in his request and if they take him, they MUST take us all. We will NOT allow human rights to be violated.

The Human Rights Brigades "Faisal Sergio Tapia" in defense of Palestinian People, primarily targets governments, but also reports on non-governmental bodies and private individuals ("non-state actors").

There are 5 key areas which the Human Rights Brigades "Faisal Sergio Tapia" deals with:

*Women’s, children’s, palestinian rights
* Ending torture
* Rights of refugees
* Rights of palestinian prisoners of conscience
* Protection of human dignity.

The Human Rights Brigades "Faisal Sergio Tapia" in defense of Palestinian People, volunteers work in defense of palestinian people in communities and organizations of Human Rights. Volunteers offer services through a free legal clinic, where volunteers shadow and assist lawyers as they provide legal consulting to community members. Volunteers also work with palestine community of palestinian prisoners. The Human Rights Brigades primarily works with education communities that are under resourced and largely unaware of their legal rights. Additionally, volunteers provide legal capacity building human rights workshops on various legal concepts to empower communities through education. Between brigades, Global Brigades’ in-country staff works to secure legal outcomes and provide follow-up to the community.

Human Rights Brigades "Faisal Sergio Tapia" in defense of Palestinian People born of the solidarity of the Open letter to the Israeli government:

Given the situation of the critical health condition of Palestinian detainee Samer al Issawi; and under the Geneva Conventions and their Additional Protocols are at the core of international humanitarian law and under the protection of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) declaration adopted by the United Nations General Assembly on 10 December 1948

My Palestinian brother, Samer Issawi was arrested illegally after liberation in a deal fulfillment; Samer was released after serving 10 years in Israeli Prisons as part of the October 2011 prisoner swap. On 07/02/2012 he was re-arrested with no charges against him and no fair trial.

My brother has emerged as the human face of Israel’s brutal policy of indefinite ‘administrative detention’. Israel arrests some Palestinians based on evidence presented in a closed military court. It says the practice pre-empts attacks against it while keeping its counter-intelligence sources and tactics secret.

Samer is a victim of extreme torture & abuse with bruises all over his body caused by the Israeli Police Services ( IPS). During a court appearance on 12/18/2012, Samer (who is currently in a wheel chair) & his family were physically assaulted by the IPS in front of the Israeli judge, who did nothing to stop this brutal act. He was dragged from his wheelchair & carried away, repeatedly crying out that he was hit on his chest by the guards around him.

Following Samer Issawi’s abuse inside the court room. Samer’s family has been terrorized, clearly as a way to pressure Samer & his family to end his hunger strike.

The Israeli government can torture, massacre my body, can kill as you know, but please, I ask, freedom for Samer al-Issawi, my brother, my blood... because we are all: Palestine!, all of us who struggle against oppression, the oppression that is killing my brother in its Israeli prison
I accuse Israel as the first systematic violator of human rights of humanity,
