Political Language
By David Glenn Cox

"Political language. . . is designed to make lies sound truthful and murder respectable, and to give an appearance of solidity to pure wind."- George Orwell

NBC- “The White House announced new Iran sanctions Monday amid a continuing impasse in international efforts to pressure Iran to curb its nuclear program. President Obama issued the sanctions in an executive order Sunday. In a pre-Super Bowl interview that afternoon, he said the United States still seeks a diplomatic resolution to the Iranian nuclear issue. Obama also said that he thinks Israel has not yet decided whether it will carry out unilateral preemptive air strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities—a development that the United States seeks to avoid.

"Any kind of additional military activity inside the Gulf is disruptive and has a big effect on us," Obama told NBC’s Matt Lauer in the interview. "It could have a big effect on oil prices. We’ve still got troops in Afghanistan, which borders Iran."

The President is fomenting a crisis where there is none, creating a new crisis while pretending to prevent one. Sanctions are a legal definition for a targeted blockade and a blockade is considered an act of war. The world and the politics of the world have always been fucked, but perhaps now, are just more fucked.

The United States is actively and deliberately pursuing an aggressive military foreign policy. For more than a decade the United States has declared arbitrarily the right to attack any nation or state solely based on its own imaginary reasoning.

“In a nation run by swine, all pigs are upward-mobile and the rest of us are fucked until we can put our acts together: not necessarily to win, but mainly to keep from losing completely.”- Hunter S. Thompson

There is no discernable difference between Barack Obama and George W. Bush. There is also no discernable difference between Barack Obama and Mitt Romney. The elections are a fantasy, a media circus. The start and finish line of unspeakable horrors committed in our name.

“Obama also said that he thinks Israel has not yet decided whether it will carry out unilateral preemptive air strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities—a development that the United States seeks to avoid.”

Obama’s statement is a double absurdity, the President pressuring Iran by threatening our own unilateral action while he pretends to restrain Israel. Israel is just a foil for the US in this case. Let’s look at the numbers,

Iran- manpower fit for military service 20,149,222
Israel- manpower fit for military service 1,517,510

Iran – economy, $906.2 billion
Israel – economy, $224.4 billion

Iran- percentage of the population below the poverty line 18.6
Israel- percentage of the population below the poverty line 23.6

Israel is only scratching at the dirt like a bantam rooster at our behest. The issues at play really have little to do with Israel at all. Because Americans won’t go to war for Saudi Arabia, that is Iran’s adversary in the Persian Gulf. What a perverted world it is where Israel dances when the US calls the tune to protect the Saudis.

Who among us can believe in anything anymore? The new unemployment numbers are out and as reported their purpose is not to inform, but to misinform.

U-6 unemployment number,

January 2011, 17.3 percent
January 2012, (drum roll please) 16.2 percent!

A 1.1 percent increase as the President claims the numbers prove conclusively that the economy is moving in the right direction.

The greatest battle we fight is the battle for the hearts and minds of America, a nation buried beneath a dung heap of televised propaganda undreamed of just a generation before. During the Super Bowl General Electric aired a commercial touting new manufacturing in America. Their catch phrase was that they weren’t just building products but building America. Why is a corporation spending millions of dollars to advocate economic news? Is it to prove they make great toasters or to plant the seed of a false idea?

American’s are taught to believe entrepreneurs like Mitt Romney create jobs. Mitt Romney was a corporate raider. He bought companies to break them apart and sell off the pieces for a profit. Romney is a pirate, a porn star of perverted Capitalism. On the other hand, the people and in some cases, they very people in Romney’s shattered companies are said to have bought too much house. They are portrayed as bad guys while Romney is the good guy.

Newt Gingrich has made himself a millionaire through lobbying the government for healthcare interests. Newt is too smart to call himself a lobbyist and too dumb to earn an honest living. Newt is the head of a healthcare alliance, he is a salesman paid by the alliance he himself created to represent healthcare interests, see the difference?
Barack Obama promised us three years ago that he would put an end to corporate lobbyists in the White House. Obama has been as good as his word; he has given office space to the CEO’s of America’s Fortune 500 to write and to decide the President’s positions. I think sometimes, if you had cancer and asked Obama to cure that cancer he would do it by shooting you right between the eyes.

Obama is a right wing fascist, and yet the media describes him as a…liberal. The Republicans call him a …Socialist and even a Communist. Obama has made fools of the Nobel committee and fools of us all, but ask yourself; why is it they call this President further to the right than Ronald Reagan a liberal and a communist? Because it negates the left and moves the political goal posts even further to the right. This country has declared war on the Post Office for god’s sake; the Post office is a service of government, guaranteeing legal channels of communication. Who wins if it takes a day or two longer for your bills to get to you and who wins if it takes longer for you to receive legal notice?

A war on public employees, a war on public school teachers and a war on public services, it no less than an undeclared war upon the people themselves. Tax cuts for the rich and budget cuts for everyone else. There is no salve or bandage, no treatment or spa to mend these ills of a toxic government which fuels the ills of our people. It is a cancer which must be rooted out and destroyed before it uproots and destroys all.

“There were two ‘Reigns of Terror’, if we could but remember and consider it; the one wrought murder in hot passions, the other in heartless cold blood; the one lasted mere months, the other had lasted a thousand years; the one inflicted death upon a thousand persons, the other upon a hundred million; but our shudders are all for the “horrors of the… momentary Terror, so to speak; whereas, what is the horror of swift death by the axe compared with lifelong death from hunger, cold, insult, cruelty and heartbreak?

A city cemetery could contain the coffins filled by that brief terror that we have all been so diligently taught to shiver at and mourn over; but all France could hardly contain the coffins filled by that older and real Terror – that unspeakable bitter and awful Terror which none of us has been taught to see in its vastness or pity as it deserves.” – Mark Twain

We are a nation filled with a more fearsome propaganda network than Winston Smith could have ever imagined. An economic system which seeks to profit from every misery, malady and misfortune, a system which always takes more in the end than it gives. An economic system which bills you for education and punishes you without. We are a people trapped beneath the dead weight of a corpse, a people lost in the forest of our own despair.

How many more bombs? How many more graves? How many more truncated lies and pale excuses? How many more must die for money? "It could have a big effect on oil prices.”- Barack Obama

“The question is one of fighting the causes and not just the effects. This revolution is bound to fail if it doesn’t succeed in reaching deep inside them, stirring them right down to the bone, and giving them back their stature as human beings. Otherwise, what’s the use?” – Che Guevara
