Savile Allegations Continue Despite Being Untrue

by WireNews+Co - Open-Publishing - Thursday 11 October 2012

Unfortunately, Sir James Wilson Vincent Savile, OBE, KCSG, or simply Jimmy Savile to most of the world, died last year so he cannot refute the ridiculous claims being made by a seemingly never-ending list of so-called ’victims’ and other people who now claim that they knew what he was doing, but did nothing for decades.

The most recent claim; that Savile abused a brain damaged child in hospital is so beyond the pale that it doesn’t deserve a response.

However, a couple of the more outrageous reports need some attention.

According to a Telegraph article, "Staff were said to have told girls on the children’s ward to “pretend to be asleep” during his visits". If that’s true, then, which staff did this? Let’s have their names. Are these people coming forward to say that they actually said this or are we once again being fed rumour and being asked to accept it as fact?

In another previously reported claim, ChildLine founder Esther Rantzen lead us to believe that there was gossip that she failed to act upon. Rantzen told ITV1: “We all blocked our ears to the gossip. We made him into the Jimmy Savile who was untouchable, who nobody could criticise.”

But if that’s true, then who told her? What’s the person’s name? If the comments were from more than one person, what are their names? We don’t hear that from Rantzen. She merely joins the bandwagon by spreading more rumour in what can only be described as a shameful self-promotion exercise.

If it’s true that Rantzen had heard any rumours at the time she’d have acted on them such is the women who founded ChildLine, an organisation that deals with any issue which causes distress or concern, including child abuse, bullying, parental separation or divorce, pregnancy and substance misuse. But I would add that if she knew anything at all and did nothing, it should now have serious implications for the organisation she founded. Indeed, if the founder of ChildLine knew anything and did nothing then the organisation should be wound up immediately.

The truth is that Rantzen never heard any rumours. If she did, then I want to know who told her so that we can verify what she says now.
