The Politics of Obliteration
By DAVE LINDORFF
Tough guy Hillary Clinton, on the morning of a critical primary vote in Pennsylvania, uttered a monstrous threat, saying on ABC’s "Good Morning America program today that if Iran were to launch a nuclear attack on Israel while she was president, "we would be able to totally obliterate them."
Think about that a moment!
A country that we view as a theocracy, run dictatorially by a bunch of self-appointed religious fanatics, whose rule is (…)

Time for a discussion on … not race, but racism.
One of the clear observations that can be made about the ugly Democratic presidential primary just held in Pennsylvania is that it was marred by racism.
The winning candidate, Hillary Clinton, who bested Barack Obama by just over 9 percent of the vote after a six-week campaign, made a determined effort to court the white, working class (…) -

It’s been in the news recently that Barack Obama has accepted and trumpeted an endorsement by former U.S. Senator David Boren, currently president of the University of Oklahoma. He has also appointed Boren to be an "advisor" to his campaign on matters of national security.
With the endorsement from Boren, Obama deserves to lose all credibility with his claim to be "progressive." Here are a few facts about Boren: (…) -

According to Webster, a political revolution does not have to be violent:
It says (2b) that a revolution is "a fundamental change in political organization; especially : the overthrow or renunciation of one government or ruler and the substitution of another by the governed."
According to this Oklahoma law (paragraph B), it is a felony crime for anyone over the age of 18 to advocate revolution on a college or (…) -

“I am having a great deal of frustration trying to convince my Canadian family that our lives are in danger from US economic break down. They are … absorbed in this irrational world and always have faith that our government will assure our safety in time of great disaster. They fail to realize that this is not something that will just take care of itself… I was hoping if you could provide me with or point me to some articles that may shed some light (…) -

“We know what happens to people who stay in the middle of the road. They get run over.” - Ambrose Bierce
Are you sick and tired of being at the mercy of the grasping plutocrats who run Big Oil? Gasoline is now selling at $3.50 a gallon, as the price of a barrel of oil nears $120, with no end in sight to further increases. Meanwhile, the American economy is sinking faster than the Titanic. The dollar, too, is in sharp decline. Mortgage foreclosures are at depression era highs. Over three (…) -

The United States has less than 5 percent of the world’s population. But it has almost a quarter of the world’s prisoners.
Indeed, the United States leads the world in producing prisoners, a reflection of a relatively recent and now entirely distinctive American approach to crime and punishment. Americans are locked up for crimes — from writing bad checks to using drugs (…) -

Strother Martin, in the classic film, "Cool Hand Luke," uttered those immortal words: “What we’ve have here is failure to communicate.” That sums up the current war of words between the Peoples Republic of China and CNN. Part of this situation is pure, heavy-handed, government propaganda, and part is American arrogance, quick to point out the sty in other’s eyes while unwilling to deal with the log in their own. A failure to communicate, based on culture, politics, (…) -

FOOD RATIONING HAS ARRIVED IN AMERICA
Many parts of America, long considered the breadbasket of the world, are now confronting a once unthinkable phenomenon: food rationing. Major retailers in New York, in areas of New England, and on the West Coast are limiting purchases of flour, rice, and cooking oil as demand outstrips supply. There are also anecdotal reports that some consumers are hoarding grain stocks.

Democratic presidential Hillary Clinton has threatened to “obliterate” Iran if it launches a nuclear attack against Israel as she fights for her own political survival.
“I want the Iranians to know that if I’m the president, we will attack Iran,” Senator Clinton told ABC News, asked what she would do as president were Iran to launch a nuclear attack on Israel.” In the next 10 years, during which they might foolishly consider launching an attack on (…)
