I came across a passage by Wilhelm Reich that resonates true today, as it did in 1953 when he wrote it, as it did 2000 years ago from which he referenced it. The passage is from the book “The Murder of Christ”, and is as follows:
“This is the way it has been and has remained to this very day and will go on being for quite some time. They will not cease to kill this way until they have been rendered powerless to kill the soul in every human fruit already in the womb before it saw (…)

Will Watertown, MA Uproar Bring Abe Foxman Down?
26 August 2007 par (Open-Publishing)
“Man is the only animal that blushes—or needs to.” — Mark Twain
What would we do without him? I’m talking about Abe Foxman, National Director of the Anti-Defamation League (ADL). Although, he mostly pretends to be one of the guys, he actually does have some super abilities. Working 24/7, he functions like a One-Man Censor Board to protect Americans from any ideas that might cause them to question what the Israel Firsters, like himself, are really up to. He also can perform as an attack (…) -
DADDY, WHERE DOES MONEY COME FROM?

The U.S. government is on a ’burning platform’ of unsustainable policies and practices.
David Walker, U.S. Comptroller General
Anyone who hasn’t watched "Money As Debt," an animated DVD by Paul Grignon, should consider purchasing this extraordinary explanation of money’s origin in an economy totally dependent on debt. Almost everyone has seen footage of federal printing presses cranking out paper money, and some of us have even visited a government mint or two and have (…) -
George Bush Meets Graham Greene
25 August 2007 par (Open-Publishing)
In any case, here’s the Bush statement today: “In 1955, long before the United States had entered the war, Graham Greene wrote a novel called ‘The Quiet American.’ It was set in Saigon and the main character was a young government agent named Alden Pyle. He was a symbol of American purpose and patriotism and dangerous naivete. Another character describes Alden this way: ‘I never knew a man who had better motives for all the trouble he caused.’...Maybe someone should tell him that Pyle, in (…)

2 commentsIf the Federal Reserve is waiving a fundamental principle in banking regulation, the credit crunch must still be sapping the strength of America’s biggest banks. Fortune’s Peter Eavis documents an unusual Fed move. FORTUNE Magazine
By Peter Eavis, Fortune writer
NEW YORK (Fortune) — In a clear sign that the credit crunch is still affecting the nation’s largest financial institutions, the Federal Reserve agreed this week to bend key banking regulations to help out Citigroup (Charts, (…) -

August 21, 2007 – As a result of a news tip provided to us through our Whistleblower web page last month, the Muckraker Report has been investigating a story involving potential theft, corruption, cover-up, and kickback schemes within the Department of Commerce’s U.S. Census Bureau.

Although our investigation is ongoing, it is apparent that there is more to this story than the 1,137 lost, stolen or missing laptops from the U.S. Census Bureau as (…) -
An Appeal for the Hurricanes Katrina and Rita International Tribunal

Thanks David, for flying your Impeachment banner over the Pelosi visit to New Orleans. This is exactly the kind of action we need. In fact, please convince as many anti-war and pro-impeachment organizations to endorse the Tribunal. I feel for the people of the Gulf States. New Orleans (NOLA) is a police state. It is horrible. Please come to NOLA if you can on the August 29 thru Sept 2 or any one day. This is truly an issue that can unite us all because it’s just (…) -
Kansas Activists Bring Down the Rafters

1 commentReport by Anne Pritchett and Carol Huhs
In case you haven’t heard, last night Kansas Representative Dennis Moore and Kansas Senator Pat Roberts met for a little "kaffeeklatch" at Johnson County Community College (JCCC) near Kansas City, Kansas. It was an attempt at bipartisanship - - a blue dog Dem talking with a Repub - - trying to make all the problems go away. They sat and talked about nothing for about an hour and a half. They took questions from the audience that were written on (…) -
How Congress Will End the Occupation
24 August 2007 par (Open-Publishing)
By David Swanson
Public pressure on Congress to end the occupation of Iraq resulted in a fundamental breakthrough on July 19th when 70 congress members sent a letter to the president. The key sentence in the letter was the first one:
"We are writing to inform you that we will only support appropriating additional funds for U.S. military operations in Iraq during Fiscal Year 2008 and beyond for the protection and safe redeployment of all our troops out of Iraq before you leave office." (…) -
