Nobel Peace Prize Winners Take Aim at U.S.
By CHASE SQUIRES, AP
DENVER (Sept. 17) - Ten Nobel Peace Prize laureates called for world peace and took aim at U.S. policy makers, asking an enthusiastic crowd of 7,000 youth to demand that the United States pull back its military, spread its wealth and offer aid to developing countries.
Only the Dalai Lama, whose speech at the three-day PeaceJam convention at the University of Denver was interrupted when a fire alarm went off, did not take a (…)

*Former Bush Economist Slams Administration On 9/11*
By Cathy Garger

It’s not very often that I bother to listen to anything that a former employee of the Bush administration has to say. This is precisely why, when a researcher friend kept bringing up the name ‘Morgan Reynolds’, I listened politely and read an article or two - but only to appease her. Whenever I heard the words ‘Bush administration Economist’, I have to admit the desire to move on to another topic (…) -
The Ghost of America: Ignorance is bliss?

"I would rather have my ignorance than another man’s knowledge, because I’ve got so much more of it"......Mark Twain ********************************** I grew up in America’s bland and comfortable 50s. To be honest neither I nor my compatriots knew a damned thing about what was going on in the world. We didn’t know there was a war in Indo-China, or Korea, or Spanish Sahara. We didn’t know what was happening in our own government, were totally unaware of drugs and gangs and crime. Even sex was (…)

As Republicans continue to distance themselves from the political suicide of George W. Bush’s policies and his failed war in Iraq, some are also privately expressing doubts about his mental stability, saying the President’s erratic actions show a man increasingly out of control.
Even Bush’s former Secretary of State, Colin Powell, tells confidants he feels the President has "buckled (…) -

1 commentThe Issue Is Not National Security But Image Security By Greg Palast September 14, 2006 Forget the orange suit. Exxon Mobil Corporation, which admits it was behind the criminal complaint brought by Homeland Security against me and television producer Matt Pascarella, has informed me that the oil company will no longer push charges that Pascarella and I threatened "critical infrastructure."
The allegedly criminal act, which put us on the wrong side of post-9/11 anti-terror law, was our (…)
