Publisher’s note: John Conyers introduced this right after the illegal wiretapping revelations
I think that many more congresspeople would sign on if the impeachment resolution was about the illegal wiretapping only. The case for impeachment over illegal wiretapping is cut and dry. Bush admitted to breaking the law on national TV and has said he will continue to do so.
When this information came to light, everyone was in an uproar and the momentum was so moving toward immediate (…)

War on Terror’s Hit Parade An Islamophobia Retrospective by Trish Schuh, USA
It was the potshot heard round the world that touched off a counter-crusade. Packaged in western free speech cliches, and marketed as innocent satire, the newspaper Jylland-Posten’s depiction of the Prophet Muhammad as a terrorist/suicide bomber with a ticking bomb for a turban was "provocation-entrapment" (…) -

Stephen Colbert Shows President Bush What Shock and Awe is All About
2 May 2006 par (Open-Publishing)
1 commentStephen Colbert was the celebrity entertainer at the 2006 White House Correspondent’s Dinner. But you wouldn’t know it if you only paid attention to main stream media outlets. That is because the main stream media is proving Stephen Colbert right. Colbert, in his persona as a conservative, flag waving, Bush supporting cable show host, unloaded on the Washington press and the administration in a bit of satirical, comedic genius. But the main stream press has decided to pretend it didn’t (…)

2 May 2006 par (Open-Publishing)
1 commentComedy Central star Stephen Colbert’s biting routine at the White House Correspondents Association dinner won a rare silent protest from Bush aides and supporters Saturday when several independently left before he finished.
"Colbert crossed the line," said one top Bush aide, who rushed out of the hotel as soon as Colbert finished. Another said that the president was visibly angered by the sharp lines that kept coming.
"I’ve been there before, and I can see that he is [angry]," said a (…) -

Stephen Colbert’s Take at the White House Correspondents Dinner Transcript of Stephen Colbert’s monologue at the White House Correspondents Dinner Saturday, April 29, 2006
Thank you, ladies and gentlemen. Before I begin, I’ve been asked to make an announcement. Whoever parked 14 black bulletproof S.U.V.’s out front, could you please move them? They are blocking in 14 other black bulletproof S.U.V.’s and they need to get out.
Wow. Wow, what an honor. The White House correspondents’ (…) -
The War’s Liberal Enablers

5 commentsAccountability is no longer creeping, but racing up on the Bush gang. No, not the shuffling of the decks chairs --- the "transfer" of Karl Rove; Scott McClellan’s Snow job replacement; or even Scooter’s spilling the beans on the deliberate misleading of the Plame Grand Jury. Nope. It’s the big brass Rummyache that’s got the roaches scurrying. If Rummy goes, who would make decisions for the Decider-in-chief?
All this is quite entertaining and offers hope, but it also brings up: where’s the (…)
