This morning (Mon) Bush spoke to Johns Hopkins International Studies Group students and took questions, many of which were embarrassing.
One question dealt with Bush’s low poll numbers. Bush responded "I respect dissenters but know I must and will do what I believe is right. Democracy is a wonderful thing; people have a right to voice their opinions and that’s a good thing..." blah blah, yada yada yada.
With this twisted logic, one can only assume that the U.S.Congress, with a current (…)

How to Save the World
Preface
Awakening as the day’s first rays of sunlight brighten my bedroom, I dress hurriedly and run downstairs. Even though it’s a Saturday, I’m eager to get to “work.” Passing through the kitchen on my way to the back door, I notice that my wife, Anna, has already made some coffee. Pouring myself a cup, I take it with me as I head out the back door on my way to my workshop. My workshop is where I work. I’ve been self employed as a furniture maker for a couple of (…) -

GANGSTER GOVERNMENT A LEAKY PRESIDENT RUNS AFOUL OF ’LITTLE RICO’ Buzzflash by Greg Palast Sunday, April 9, 2006 E-Mail Article Printer Friendly Version
It’s a crime. No kidding. But the media has it all wrong. As usual.
’Scooter’ Libby finally outed ’Mr. Big,’ the perpetrator of the heinous disclosure of the name of secret agent Valerie Plame. It was the President of United States himself — in conspiracy with his Vice-President. Now the pundits are arguing over whether our war-a-holic (…) -

(If Dick Cheney was a Christian Explorer and kept a diary of his exploits.)

It was a pleasant day when I sailed my small sloop out of port. I had taken on full provisions of food and drink, had my CD of THE BEST SERMONS OF PAT ROBERTSON in my player and set full sail for the eastern horizon.
Suddenly a vast wind sprang up which tossed my small sloop like a cork in a bathtub. I was blown off course, my compass stopped (…) -

By Peter Fredson
April 9, 2006
A nephew in Mexico e-mailed me a question concerning Easter. His wife is a school teacher, and her pupils wanted to know why in the U.S. bunnies and colored eggs are associated with Easter.
Most of the Mexican pupils were raised as Catholics and they only know of the alleged crucifixion, death, resurrection, and ascension of Christ in connection with Easter symbolism (Las Pascuas). No bunnies, no Easter Eggs. How did (…) -

In the name of fighting stateless terrorism, George W. Bush is looming as the American Caesar running roughshod over the civil liberties of the American people who have turned against him in ever larger majorities.
In the name of fighting terrorism, George W. Bush fabricated numerous excuses for illegally invading Iraq and occupying it for now over three costly years in ways that are magnets for the (…) -

The Wisdom of Charlie Chan: Bush aphorisms
9 April 2006 par (Open-Publishing)
Most of us have fond memories of Charlie Chan. Here are some of his original aphorisms from films made in the 30s and 40s. Amazingly astute in relation to the current political arena.
Gonzales on NUKE use: "Executioner merely servant of law"
Observation on American public: "Eyes of kitten open only after 9 days"
On the current Republican Party: "Faces may alter, but finderprints never lie"
On impeaching Bush: "Fish in sea like flea on dog....always present but difficult to catch" (…)
