I once saw a bumper sticker that read: “I’ve never made a mistake. I thought I did once, but I was wrong.”
Well I have made a mistake. And today I must apologize to loyal PRAVDA.Ru readers, and to the thirty percent of Americans still enamored with the Bush dictatorship.
George W. Bush is not evil. He’s just stupid.
On second thought, this stupidity does make him susceptible to the Machiavellian machinations of evil men, like Dick Cheney, Karl Rove, Donald (…)

Bread and Roses: International Women’s Day and the fight for a better life for all

1 commentby Daniel Patrick Welch
Given the state of politics in the US and the moribund resistance from popular forces, it is often surprising to many that some of the great struggles of our time had their start in the Belly of the Beast. The tradition of May 1 as International Labor Day, for example, is marginalized in the country of its birth: it was the capstone of American Labor’s fight for the eight hour day in which women and anarchists played a prominent role. International Women’s Day was (…) -

Leutrell "Mike" Osborne, 26 year veteran CIA Case Officer and Counter Intelligence expert like many African-Americans are somewhat familiar with the now deceased Director of Domestic Intelligence for the FBI, William Sullivan. Most of those who know of him also know that he was killed a week before he was to testify before the House Select Committee on Assassinations in 1977. What can be learned of his career comes from his autobiography (that was completed and published (…) -
9/11 best video yet- As close to a smoking gun as I could find
22 March 2006 par (Open-Publishing)
9 commentsThe following link is as close to a smoking gun as I’ve been able to find. Opening the link immediately brings you to a playing video. It takes about a minute to open. The style is similar to Michael Moore in Fahrenheit 9/11. Reviewers call it the film Michael Moore should have made. It is being distributed for free by its makers. I think it has high credibility and is quite provocative. Can’t hurt to pass it on. rb

If Italy, Russia, & Japan can have mobsters, why can’t Israel?
22 March 2006 par (Open-Publishing)
1 commentIf Italy can have a Mafia, and Russians can have a Mafia, and Japanese can have a Yakuza, etc, etc, etc, and they all have US operations, why would it be any surprise whatsoever that we could have an Israeli Mafia in the US?
Truth being stranger than fiction, it wouldn’t surprise me if they have co-opted most of the US government with what always is at the bottom of trouble - money/wealth.
How else can you explain the US supporting Israel in anything it does, even though it ticks off all (…) -
Chavez Says U.S. Lying About Iranian Nuke Ambitions
22 March 2006 par (Open-Publishing)
CARACAS, Venezuela — Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez said the U.S. is spinning lies about Iran’s nuclear program as an excuse to control more foreign oil.
In a nationally televised speech, Chavez said escalating U.S. concern about Tehran and the invasion of Iraq both resulted from America’s insatiable thirst for petroleum.
One of the world’s most outspoken critics of U.S. foreign policy also claims the Bush administration is lying about Iranian efforts to build an atomic bomb, while (…) -
The Second Death of Rachel Corrie Censorship of the Worst Kind

I am urging the Royal Court Theatre to sue the New York Theatre Workshop for the cancellation of the production of "My Name Is Rachel Corrie". Not because I donated money for this production, which the Royal Court have been fundraising for—a target of 50,000 pounds, underwritten by Alan Rickman.
This is censorship of the worst kind. More awful even than that.It is black-listing a dead girl and her diaries.A very brave and exceptional girl who all citizens, whatever (…) -

The US-dominated world order is being challenged by a new spirit of independence in the global south
The prospect that Europe and Asia might move towards greater independence has troubled US planners since the second world war. The concerns have only risen as the "tripolar order" - Europe, North America and Asia - has continued to evolve.
Every day Latin America, too, (…)
