On the Third anniversary of the illegal invasion of Iraq, the Antiwar movement is calling upon the Bush Administration to "Bring the Troops Home Now".
"Bring the Troops Home Now" is a strong yet ambiguous statement because it accepts the legitimacy of the Commander in Chief who is entrusted in making that decision.
The war is illegal and criminal. Irrespective of the Commander in Chief’s decision, US and coalition troops have a moral and legal obligation to "Abandon the Battlefield" and (…)

American Newspapers all ought to be renamed: US OFFICIALS SAY
19 March 2006 par (Open-Publishing)
3 comments03/18/06 "The Independent" — — It is a bright winter morning and I am sipping my first coffee of the day in Los Angeles. My eye moves like a radar beam over the front page of the Los Angeles Times for the word that dominates the minds of all Middle East correspondents: Iraq. In post-invasion, post-Judith Miller mode, the American press is supposed to be challenging the lies of this war. So the story beneath the headline "In a Battle of Wits, Iraq’s Insurgency Mastermind Stays a Step Ahead (…)

WRITE ABC TV ABOUT "BOSTON LEGAL"
18 March 2006 par (Open-Publishing)
2 commentsNeedless to say, the warhawks and Bushistas are trying to flood ABC with negative messages about the James Spader monologue on Boston Legal. They are out to make sure the speech never appears in reruns. If you agreed with the speech, if you applaud the stand for the Constitution expressed in the show, if you want to encourage mainstream media to finally exercise their role as watchdog on government abuse, even if it is in a drama, then YOU NEED TO WRITE IN AND SUPPORT THE SHOW.
Boston (…) -

Stop the War on Iran before It Stars : Only the People will stop the war
18 March 2006 par (Open-Publishing)
2 commentsPresident Bush, Vice President Cheney, Secretary Rice, Secretary Rumsfeld, Secretary General Annan, Senators and Representatives,
It is with grave concern that I observe the growing threat of a new U.S. war—this time against the people of Iran.
The media is filled with reports of an alleged nuclear threat posed by Iran and the assumed need for the U.S. to take military action. These reports recall the "Weapons of Mass Destruction" stories issued in the months leading up to the war on (…) -
U.S. Troops in Iraq: 72% Say End War in 2006
18 March 2006 par (Open-Publishing)
1 commentAn overwhelming majority of 72% of American troops serving in Iraq think the U.S. should exit the country within the next year, and nearly one in four say the troops should leave immediately, a new Le Moyne College/Zogby International survey shows.
The poll, conducted in conjunction with Le Moyne College’s Center for Peace and Global Studies, showed that 29% of the respondents, serving in various branches of the armed forces, said the U.S. should leave Iraq “immediately,” while another 22% (…) -
The central battlefield in the global resource war By Mike Whitney INFORMATION CLEARING HOUSE)
18 March 2006 par (Open-Publishing)
2 comments03/17/06 "ICH" — - It’s impossible to understand the goals of the Bush administration without looking at a map. The entire Middle East and Central Asia is referred to in military parlance as CENTCOM; the central battlefield in the global resource war. This region extends from Sudan in the south to Kazakhstan to the north; from Egypt in the west to Pakistan in the east. This is where the vast majority of the world’s remaining resources lie and it will continue to be the primary area of focus (…)

New York Times Shills Again
18 March 2006 par (Open-Publishing)
2 commentsThe New York Times has had some remarkable coverage about Senator Feingold’s censure resolution. Remarkable in its naivete and lack of balance.
Today’s Times featured an editorial entitled, "Time for Facts, Not Resolutions," suggesting that:" [T]he censure proposal is a bad idea. Members of Congress don’t need to take extraordinary measures like that now.
They need to fulfill their sworn duty to investigate the executive branch’s misdeeds and failings." Just how exactly does the New York (…) -
