An Open Letter to Kerry

I do not know what happened to you to change you from the young hero you were in and out of Vietnam. Perhaps the corruption of your many years in Congress has affected your sense of reality. I just finished watching your latest speech where you are attacking the Bush Administration for the “mistakes” they made in Iraq. As a member of the generation who survived the great depression and world war two; I am a realist.
Your position on Iraq is diametrically opposite to your position on Vietnam. I will not go into the other positions you have taken on domestic policy; but support for the WTO when our jobs are being out-sourced, your desire to give more money to corporations to make them behave, and your health plan to give the HTOs and Insurance companies more of our tax money make me reluctant to vote for anyone but Ralph Nader. I will tell you what I think you should do. You should step down and have Dennis Kucinich take your place.

I see everything on television. I sat and watched, while we bombed a helpless Baghdad like Hitler bombed a helpless Warsaw. They called it “shock and awe”. Hitler called his attack “blitzkrieg”, (lightning war). Both phrases are similar. Then we occupied Iraq like Hitler occupied Poland. We have compounded this by engaging in a torture of prisoners that would have made Adolph Eichman envious. The population did not greet us with wine and flowers, but started a war of resistance to enemy occupation. Insurrectionists and terrorists like these were called patriots in 1776. What would I do if I were you?

I would leave with all the dispatch that we used leaving Saigon, only I wouldn’t wait for the tanks to arrive. I would take all of my Iraqi traitors with me that wanted to go, and I would do it now. Shakespeare said: “Stand not upon your manner of leaving but go at once!” When I got safely home I would convene a grand jury to indict George Bush and his whole neo-com and corporate thieves for high crimes and misdemeanors. When they were safely ensconced in Leavenworth I would wait until the Iraqis got themselves organized. I do not believe they will have any civil war. I think that they will be ecstatic that the Americans have left, and being an intelligent people I believe they will work out their problems. If we have done anything good in Iraq it is that we have united the Iraqis. The hatred of a Sunni for a Shiite is nothing compared to their hatred for the occupiers. After things have stabilized in Iraq I would release all Iraqi money and give them money that has already been allocated for reconstruction.

Then I would turn the Pentagon into a roller skating rink.

  • I have been (and still am) a strong supporter of Dennis Kucinich. I enjoyed your open letter and while I do agree with your points made I also came to the understanding that George W. Bush and Company MUST BE REMOVED FROM POWER!!!!!

I will be voting for Kerry for that reason. I would very, very, very much prefer to be voting for Dennis.

All I have to do is sit and watch the video (on the web) of Bush sitting there and doing ABSOLUTELY NOTHING while the horror unfolded in New York on 9/11 to know that the FIRST PRIORITY above all other priorities is to GET DUBYA OUT OF THE WHITE HOUSE.

I truly hope that justice will be served someday and Bush & Company will be taken into custody on charges of High Treason and a fair trial will be conducted and the appropriate sentences ultimately served.

    Peace (NOW!)

  • I am still of the belief that the best man for the job was, is and always will be Dennis Kucinich. He is honest and believes in what he stands for and stands for what he believes. He is what we need. Unfortunately, too many people voted for an "electable" candidate, and look what we are stuck with. Kerry is the lesser of two evils. I will vote for Kerry-I would rather be voting for Dennis-but, I agree, DUBYA and his triumverate of evil has to go. We, as a country, cannot survive another 4 years with his backward morality and his rewarding the rich and the corporations while letting the heart beat of America starve. I am a Kucitizen and will work for his campaign starting now to get the word out that Dennis IS what America needs in 2008. Karen Stockholm, Clifton Park,NY

    • If you want to see President Kucinich in 2008... you’d better vote for Bush.
Dennis has already said he will help Kerry get RE ELECTED in 2008

As far as surviving 4 more Dumbya Years... it’ll be hell.. but maybe that’s what it will take to wake enough people up. Kerry’ll just give folks a sense of false comfort.

    • Video from the streets of the DNC including Dennis Kucinich saying he’ll help Kerry get reelected in 2008.

A vote for Bush is a Vote the Kooch (sick ain’t it)
