Home > Bush’s Irresponsible War on the Truth
Wars and conflicts Governments USA

As a member of Military Families Speak Out, I am outraged this president has the nerve to tell Americans that opposition to his quagmire is “irresponsible.”
Actions by this administration have shown nothing but a consistent, repeated pattern of irresponsible behavior toward our troops, their families and the people of Iraq.
Sending our troops into a war of choice improperly trained and shoddily equipped was irresponsible. Bush abused Veterans Day, twisting it into a political plug to disrespect those who actually do support our troops. He continues to dodge the facts regarding his use of “pre-war” intelligence. The intelligence agencies did their job.
Bush failed mention the December 2001 National Intelligence Estimate (NIE) said that Iraq did not have nuclear weapons; was not trying to get them; and did not appear to have reconstituted its nuclear weapons program since the UN and International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) inspectors departed in December 1998. This assessment had been unchanged for three years.
George Bush did not send my son, (a 20-year-old reservist with the National Guard) better armor to save his life-our family did. Bush is not the one having bake sales to get soldiers in the field hand-held GPS to keep them safer. He is not the one sending Kevlar gloves, baby wipes, sunscreen, razors and other things they need-that would be the soldiers’ families. I have sent my son basic hand tools, just so he could do his job -in a war I do not support. Overseas postage is not free.
Bush has ordered our troops unarmored minivans to drive through a war zone laced with IED’s-much cheaper than armored Hummers-which were not created for combat conditions, either. Entire battalions have run out of ammunition. Equipment is getting broken, with no replacements to be had. Our soldiers are greatly out numbered and over run is a concern. Does Bush wish for an exit strategy of "shooting our way out?"
We refuse to support Bush’s war for oil, or the misuse of our military. That would be irresponsible.
There is a difference between Vietnam and Iraq. Families of soldiers are determined not to let this war go on for another 10 years and 58,000 dead soldiers. How ironic that the planners of the Iraq war were men who refused to fight a war based on lies themselves- at the same time claiming they “supported that war.”
Look for a new “Gulf of Tonkin resolution” lie coming soon...as John McCain wants more blood shed for his presidents’ incompetence.
Should this administration proceed to deepen this quagmire, military families may see fit to "declare war" on an impotent Congress and an administration which continues to show little respect for the men and women in uniform.

The gall of this President to presume to preach patriotism to veterans while refusing to shed blood for his country is astounding. On Veteran’s Day last Friday, Bush and Cheney, magnificent draft-dodgers stood in front of captive audiences to give lectures on duty, honor, country, service and valor to people who actually had served their nation...unlike George and Dick. These people know no shame, refuse to admit their lies, "stay the failed course", and continue with dirty tricks.
The Republican Senators seem uninterested in investigating allegations of Secret CIA jails, or Bush unconstitutional illegalities in detaining anyone his imperial majesty thinks should be abused, tortured or held without warrant or notice. HOw anyone can condone this conduct is a great mystery, yet many Republicans seem to think that contempt for the law is okay, as long as Bush can appoint judges who will let the president determine what IS law and what can be ignored.
I hope enough people will recognize what a scoundrel Bush is, and what power grabs his crew is attempting to stop him, perhaps impeach him, and maybe even jail him for criminal conduct and war crimes. If anyone does not recognize that his Shock and Awe and killing 20,000 MUslims was immoral, unChristian, and criminal, then this nation is doomed to destruction by the white
Christian Supremacists in control at present.

Don’t forget who makes this possible: the "free" censored American press. News have been degraded to local reports on crime and even if somebody falls over a bag of rice.

Congress and Parliment-we mean business. Get our troops home. It will shame you, if we must pull them out of this war ourselves...
