Israeli academics boycott settlements
THURSDAY, 02 SEPTEMBER 2010 16:27 Over 150 Israeli academics say they will no longer take part in cultural activities or lecture in the occupied West Bank settlement of Ariel.
Press TV reported: In a signed petition, faculty members from universities across Israel vowed not to lecture or participate in any discussions in the illegal settlements area and voiced support for the theater artists who have said they would refuse to perform in this West (…)

Video: Activists Stage “Peace Charade” at White House

On September 1, 2010, at noon, in front of the White House, Human Rights activists staged a “peace charade” skit. Its purpose was, according to their press release, to serve as a theatre parody of the “farce masquerading as [Mideast] peace talks,” currently being conducted by the U.S. Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, Palestine’s Mahmoud Abbas and Israel’s “Bibi” Netanyahu. Medea Benjamin, co-founder of CODEPINK, was the leader of the demonstration.

On Friday evening, Aug. 6, 2010, at the Bufano Sculpture Garden, on the campus of the Johns Hopkins U., in Baltimore, MD, a remembrance ceremony was held by the “Hiroshima-Nagasaki Commemoration Committee.” One of the participants in the event was David Eberhardt. He is a peace and social justice activist, an author and poet.
