FULL AND HONEST EXPLANATIONS NEEDED

By Peter Fredson

August 2, 2005

As I reviewed events of the past five years, it struck me that many still lacked full, honest, candid and open explanations. We have had several congressional investigation committee reports, but they are strangely lacking in forthright assessments of some basic problems. We have had hundreds of daily made-to-order White House “explanations” which somehow lack the crystalline ring of truth.

We have had several Press Secretaries who have spun the truth like Whirling Dervishes. We have had an entire administration cabinet lining up to repeat stories forged by word-smiths to put “positive spin” on happenings. And we have listened to a President that seems to relish incessant lying for the sake of hearing his own voice and smirking at public stupidity.

I would really like to have a full and complete explanation of why we attacked Iraq. I mean, let us discard all of the Bush administration lies about Weapons of Mass Destruction, Nuclear Mushroom Clouds, Aluminum Tubes, Yellow Cake, Evil Intentions, Pilotless Planes Menacing the U.S., and Saddam backing up Al Qaeda to cause 9/11.

Those are all Buffalo Chips, bull crap, verbal diarrhea, as pretexts to do what Bush and his Right Wing Neocons and Corporate sponsors had already decided to do.

What Karl Rove and his warhawks planned to do may be impeachable, but regardless we would love to have someone spill that they intended to invade Iraq long before 9/11 in order to seize its oil and territory to build military bases from which they could launch their tactics of aggressively dominating the world. We already know this, but it would be well if someone would tell us how they planned to go after Syria and Iran, how they looked for pretexts, how they sent spy planes and spies into those countries to get an excuse to invade them for the greater glory and profit of the Bush empire.

We know that the Bushites would love to blame 9/11 on Clinton. But we also know that the Bushites were asleep at the helm while the ship of state was sailing into dangerous waters. However the Bush cabinet has, at least for a time, successfully avoided ALL blame. The Black Goddess of Death, Condi Rice, has single-handedly offered a dozen explanations to get Bush off the hook. We now know that cruise missiles and bombs help to spread freedom and democracy by killing “collaterals.”

We know that 9/11 had antecedents in the Muslim world. We know that the Bush family and their corporate sponsors were actively engaged in all sorts of shenanigans in the Middle East, like selling arms to Saddam, dealing with Osama, and aggressively pushing their agenda regardless of Muslim cultural objections. We know that Bush and company have never thought much of Muslim objections, and have brushed them aside as mere trivia. We know that Osama became infuriated with U.S. tactics, not the least of which was when the Bushites began taking the Israeli position against the Palestinians.

What we need is a full and honest explanation of how the Palestinian-Israeli problem evolved, and why no solution was accepted. We know that Clinton got both parties to shake hands, for the first time in decades. But then things unraveled. All the accumulated cultural hatred came to the fore. The Bushites half-heartedly took over and made road-maps while the suicide bombings began in earnest. All the Middle East problems were either successively ignored or exploited. The Bushites raved about Islamic terror and intransigence while hypocritically adducing higher morality on their side as Peacemakers while profiting heavily from the war atmosphere and oil shortage.

We need, but will probably never get, an explanation why it is necessary to kill Muslims. Was Shock and Awe necessary to eliminate Saddam, one man (and perhaps some of his sons), and kill thousands of innocent Muslims in the process? Or is it still part of the Far Right dogma that the Crusades and killing infidels form part of their strategy for Christian domination?

Do the cowardly but blood-thirsty Karl Rove warhawks really relish the killing of helpless people because they prevent the spread of Far Right Christianity and corporate piracy?

We wonder how this dilemma is now playing with the mass of True Believers in the sanctity and saintliness of George Bush. Was this what they wanted when they anointed Saint George?
Do they still believe he is being open, honest and candid, or do they like the stealth, misdirection, go-to-hell, and imposition of the Bushites?
Are aggressivity, bullying, irascibility, petulance, and arrogance to be the hallmark of the new World Order, to reflect “American Values?”

Do the daily lies of the Bush administration satisfy the yearnings of the average home-town Christian. Do they really believe that God told Bush to invade Iraq, seize the oil, give it to Millennium Corporation, and destroy many lives in the process?

Is this what Christianity has come to be?
