Inaction raises a question over the entire Government

by Brian Richards

WASHINGTON, D.C. — (OfficialWire) — 06/07/05 — Eighty-nine members of the House of Representatives have called on George W. Bush to answer a series of five questions:

1. Do you or anyone in your administration dispute the accuracy of the leaked document?

2. Were arrangements being made, including the recruitment of allies, before you sought Congressional authorization to go to war? Did you or anyone in your Administration obtain Britain’s commitment to invade prior to this time?

3. Was there an effort to create an ultimatum about weapons inspectors in order to help with the justification for the war as the minutes indicate?

4. At what point in time did you and Prime Minister Blair first agree it was necessary to invade Iraq?

5. Was there a coordinated effort with the U.S. intelligence community and/or British officials to "fix" the intelligence and facts around the policy as the leaked document states?

That was more than one month ago, shortly after the so-called Downing Street memo was made public by The Times of London.

According to White House spokesman Scott McClellan, the president had no need to respond. The president does not need to respond to questions? Can that be right?

Who the Hell does Bush think he is? Saddam Hussein? Oy, Bush, let me clue you in...you claim The People gave you a mandate and put you in the White House. That means they can take you out. The People’s representatives have asked you to answer some fairly basic questions; most of which you should be able to fathom, even without the help of vice president Dick Cheney so it would be really helpful if you would provide the answers without further delay.

In the absence of satisfactory answers to those questions, Congress should immediately Resolve to pursue the impeachment of the Bush administration. Failure to act, leaves The People wondering whether or not Congress is complicit in Bush’s lies.

  • Bush hasn’t technically lied in this case, since he keeps on evading the questions.

I’d like to see Bush subpoened and required to answer the questions under oath, so help him God. Since he and God are best of friends, it’s a slam dunk that Bush would be telling the truth because the truth would set him free.

Seriously, if Bush were fixing to commit the mortal sin of bearing false witness, I think that he’d want to cover his ass by refusing to testify under oath or on the public record, and refusing to answer any questions without Dick Cheney present to advise him.

    • I liked your response... pretty witty.. but seriously, what makes you think that Bush believes in God? Because he says so? Forget that dude — he’s perfectly capable of lying. The only reason that he is "evading" is because he wouldn’t like to see certain facts that came out of his mouth regarding this fiasco "fixed" against him later...

    • Bush only know how to lie, this is the only thing he knows, he neither likes to read or watch the news as he knows he is being questioned.

He always goes around the question, he does not have an answer. What do you expect from a AWOL low IQ , he has to be wired for answers.

He needs to be given a lie detector
test. It would be interesting to see how he would do.

He needs to be held accountable for
day one when he walked into the White House. This has got to be the worst
      president in history.

Anyone that believes what he says also needs to have their head checked for a short fuse.

IMPEACH IMPEACH and if the republican party does not get some backbone and stand up they are no better then bush who lies.

To support a man who lies and continues to mislead the country all need to be voted out of office come this next election.

Bush best be impeached now, before he commits this country to another invasion. His phoney freedom and democracy are a joke.
