Outlook Shaped by Years in Exile, Prison
By Scott Wilson
GAZA CITY — Ahmed Bahar arrived here in his mother’s womb, the beginning of a journey that has taken him from the refugee camps of the Gaza Strip into exile, prison and, soon, a seat in parliament.
Along his sandy street flutter the triumphant green banners of Hamas, the radical Islamic movement he has helped foster since before its official founding nearly two decades ago. A professor of Arabic, Bahar is the earnest face of an (…)

2/20 March for 9/11 Truth NYC: The Tipping Point?
6 February 2006 par (Open-Publishing)
4 commentsMalcom Gladwell in his new book: Tipping Point: How Little Things Can Make a Big Difference believes “small actions can spark social epidemics.” I am counting on it. Ladies and gentlemen we need an epidemic of epic proportions to spread - an awareness of the reality of what happened on 9/11(A.) To use the words of Chossudovsky ‘The world is at the most serious crossroads in modern history.”(B.)The fraudulent “War on Terror” threatens the very future of humanity.

By Peter Fredson
February 5, 2006
Remember when George W. Bush was a promising Governor of Texas? Like many politicians before him he was glib in making a host of promises concerning most of the issues affecting voters. And like many politicians before him he was adept at wriggling out of his promises. He still continues this dual approach: Promise and wriggle out.
He is certainly consistent, still using some of the very same promises he made in those days (…) -

The Cowboy Way: A Neocon Myth
5 February 2006 par (Open-Publishing)
Yee Ha!, Yippy Kiyay! Remember the old B Westerns? The basic theme was often purely simplistic; the universal fight between good and evil. On the good side was a handsome WHITE cowpoke decked out in custom fitted attire and astride a WHITE horse (behold a pale horse?), and often assisted by a lamebrained but clownish sidekick.
The story usually went somethin like this: The wild western town was under the thumb of an evil, black-suied, moustashio’d villian who usually owns most of the (…) -

The President passed through his State of the Union address — ill-digested chunks of so many other speeches he’s given ("We’re writing a new chapter in the story of self-government — with women lining up to vote in Afghanistan, and millions of Iraqis marking their liberty with purple ink...) — largely untouched by the media. His two Supreme Court-changing appointments, Roberts and Alito, were triumphantly in the front row of the audience. Undoubtedly, it wasn’t a bad way for a (…) -

More than two dozen emails sent to various senior Bush administration officials between May 2003 and early July 2003 related to covert CIA agent Valerie Plame Wilson and her husband, former Ambassador Joseph Wilson, are missing, and the special prosecutor investigating the case suspects that the communications may have been destroyed, according to high level sources close to the two-year old probe.
The sources, who are knowledgeable about Special Prosecutor Patrick (…) -
A Boehner in the Henhouse

Newly-selected House Majority Leader John Boehner, R-Ohio, is getting some remarkably good press, considering his remarkably sordid political pedigree.
ABC News referred to the grizzled veteran of Capitol Hill, who was elected to the House when George Bush the Dad was president and Democrat Tom Foley was the Speaker of the House, as a "fresh face." The network’s report on the House Republican Caucus vote to select a replacement for the indicted Tom DeLay was headlined: (…) -

4 comments(PRWEB) - Duluth, MN (PRWEB) January 30, 2006 — A group of distinguished experts and scholars, including Robert M. Bowman, James H. Fetzer, Wayne Madsen, John McMurtry, Morgan Reynolds, and Andreas von Buelow, have concluded that senior government officials have covered up crucial facts about what really happened on 9/11.
They have joined with others in common cause as members of "Scholars for 9/11 Truth" (S9/11T), because they are convinced, based on their own research, that the (…) -
Salute to the Bush administration (a parody)

With apologies to Lionel Bart..the music, from OLIVER!,is conspicuous by it’s absense. Small kickbacks, small tortures who would deny us these? Rigged voting, fixed contracts part of our world of sleaze! We do it! We love it! Flying by seats of pants We never tire of it leading this merry dance! If you don’t mind lying to the public, It’s a fine life! Though convincing voters is a hat trick.. It’s a fine life! When we get majority we disseminate more strife Let the Libs look down on us (…)
