With the news that President Bush and his administration knew of impending suicidal airplane attacks on American soil and did nothing about it directly indicates a dangerous ineffectiveness and incompetence to protect America.
The failure to implement internal security for our country compounds our inability to secure America. After 911, few safe guards were implemented to protect our national security. Our boarders are not protected, our nuclear and chemical plants are not adequately (…)

Bush Says Social Security Trust Fund Doesn’t Exist
12 February 2005 par (Open-Publishing)
6 commentsPresident Bush slipped something new into his Social Security pitch on Wednesday. And it was there again twice yesterday.
He says Social Security’s $1.8 trillion trust fund doesn’t really exist. Even in Washington, that’s a lot of money to go missing.
Here is Bush, from the transcript of his talk at the Commerce Department on Wednesday:
"Some in our country think that Social Security is a trust fund — in other words, there’s a pile of money being accumulated. That’s just simply not (…) -

7 commentsWASHINGTON — February 10 — Today Rep. Waxman and Rep. Maloney ask for hearings on whether political considerations caused the Administration to delay release of findings by the 9/11 Commission about pre-attack warnings. The text of the letter follows:
The Honorable Tom Davis Chairman Committee on Government Reform U.S. House of Representatives Washington, DC 20515
Dear Mr. Chairman:
We are writing to request that our Committee hold hearings to investigate two extremely serious (…) -
The Clinton Syndrome

11 commentsReal-life events of the more or less recent past, could read like a super-hyped fiction book. The problem? Big-time book publishers are not inclined to tell the factual truth about the murder of JFK and a lot of other happenings.
Why? Simple.. The publishing cartel, made up of just a few handfuls of mega-corporations, like the rest of the oil-soaked, spy-riddled monopoly press, is not inclined to disturb the well-planted fairy tales of our era.
This non-fiction story could begin at the (…) -
The Dean Decision

I haven’t written much about the Democratic Party since Election Day, because I never aspired to be an obituary writer. But up from the Democratic dead floats the political poltergeist Howard Dean, who has risen to the helm of the graveyard known as the Democratic National Committee.
As one of the foremost critics of Howard Dean during his ill-fated presidential campaign, it might surprise some people to know I applaud his resurrection as good for Democrats, gay people and (…) -
Bush Pays Halliburton For Services Never Rendered- Shouldn’t congress hold them accountable?

1 commentAs of June 2004, the Government Accounting Office estimated that more than $1 billion in taxpayer money had been wasted due to illegal overcharges by contractors in Iraq, since the onset of the war. Furthermore, experts say that once the total is calculated correctly, the losses could very well add up to billions more.
According to GAO Comptroller General, David Walker, the $1 billion represents about 2% of the $60 billion spent in Iraq between March 2003 and June 2004. To no one’s (…) -
The Propaganda President. George W. Bush Does His Best Kim Jong-Il

The Propaganda President George W. Bush Does His Best Kim Jong-Il Jack Shafer Thursday, Feb. 3, 2005 If "Dear Leader" Kim Jong-il of North Korea and George W. Bush ever meet, I suspect the two will bond like long-lost brothers. Both men are first-born sons of powerful fathers who partied like adolescents well into their adult lives, after which they submitted to their dynastic fates as heads of state.
Both avoid critical thought, preferring to surround themselves with yes men and apply (…) -
Bush’s Liberty Song Echoes Vietnam Tune
4 February 2005 par (Open-Publishing)
1 commentBush’s Liberty Song Echoes Vietnam Tune Antonia Zerbisias February 03, 2005 When US President George W. Bush strode into the Capitol to give his State of the Union address last night, his supporters waved their darkened fingers at him in celebration of his triumph at the Iraqi polls.
But was that purple ink or did Congress stir the purple Kool-Aid with its collective fingers? And are Americans expected to drink it, the way so many swallowed the administration’s lies about weapons of mass (…) -

Cuban Leader Castro Calls Bush "Deranged" Vanessa Arrington, Associated Press Writer
HAVANA Feb 2, 2005 - In his first public remarks since the United States dubbed Cuba an outpost of tyranny, Fidel Castro called President Bush "deranged" and belittled recent improvements in relations between Cuba and Europe.
In a televised address late Tuesday, Castro maintained his trademark go-it-alone attitude, saying his communist-run island is a paradise that is doing fine without the help of the (…) -

White House-Friendly Reporter Under Scrutiny Charlie Savage and Alan Wirzbicki, Globe Staff and Globe Correspondent February 2, 2005
WASHINGTON - The Bush administration has provided White House media credentials to a man who has virtually no journalistic background, asks softball questions to the president and his spokesman in the midst of contentious news conferences, and routinely reprints long passages verbatim from official press releases as original news articles on his website.
