Wars and conflicts International USA

Heading into the Hellishly hot Iraq Summer once again. Fresh, wet-behind-the-ears Guard troops shipped into the broiler to fight a nondescript enemy of occupation. Some terrorists, some foreign religious fighters, some angry Iraqis whose parents or kids took a bullet of a bomb.

As these new guys compliment the existing surge with trepidation and anxiety, motivated by career or ire or the dream of a good education at taxpayer expense...others, the hardened 3rd or 4th termers, with scorched skin, worn souls and wrinkled psyches, are hopefully headed HOME.

When and if they finally return to the US of A, and try to reconstruct their lives, they’ll find many seemingly impossible situations to face. If they’re physically wounded, or are missing an eye or brain cells or a limb...they may find temporariy aid from a beleagered V.A. MAY...

Or, as we all know by know, these poor suffering troops, torn and bleeding, or mentally disturbed by PTS,might well be denied the comfort and support they so desperately require. As if that isn’t enough, to add insult they’ll find that IF they claim some "mystery" disease, and if, perchance they tell the docs that they believe it just might be of a chemical or radiological nature...despite scientific reports, they’ll get a suspicious glance and a dubious response. "Mystery" the ailment shall remain, and soldiers can go suck a lemon trying to get outpatient help physical or financial.

As for the rest; those missing sinew, gray matter, bone or mental agility, they may get some help. Again...MAY. It all depends on funding.

For some odd reason, only known to Pentagon high muckety muck profiteers, funds are somehow better suited to be applied to contracts with Blackwater or McDonell Douglas, Boeing, or other friends of Mr. Bush.

Cheney is sympathetic, though. He obviously cares and occasionally sheds a tear or two between pizzas and raking in a few million more on Halliburton stocks.

The lemon gets bigger and harder to suck with each passing day.

  • History tells us that the weak or passive in this world are doomed to live under the boot of those who would exploit them. We often forget if not for the brave members of the military of the United States we would be living in a much different world today. Most likely under some theocratic dictatorship, or hailing to some twisted ruler or monarchy. This is certain. We should all Remember this before we go on a tirade scorching the intentions of a Noble country.

    • Oh give us a break will you?

You are sure the world would be much worse without your meddling in it? Funny, cause the good old USofA is the country which was instrumental at the birth of all dictators you are now saving us from.

    • If you only knew the truth about WHY we were manipulated into WW1..WW2 ...NAM..and of course the 2 Bushista Wars....The reasons are NOT what you have been educated(propagandized) to believe....look to the "chosen ones" for the REAL culprit....We are the "chosen ones"’ cash cow and cannon fodder................
