This yields a “death ratio” of “Indigenous deaths”/ “Invader deaths” of 702/6 = 117, about TWELVE (12) TIMES the reprisals “death ratio” of 10 ordered by Nazi leader Adolph Hitler and promptly executed with the killing in the 24 March 1944 Ardeatine Caves Massacre of 335 ITALIAN men and boys in retribution for the deaths of 33 Nazi Germans in Rome the day before (see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ardeat....

IN THE ONGOING GAZA MASSACRE, according to leading quality Australian newspaper The Age (Melbourne; January 8, 2009: http://www.theage.com.au/world/isra... ): “The Palestinian death toll is 702, including at least 220 children, since the war erupted on December 27, Gaza medics say. More than 3100 Palestinians have been wounded. Six Israeli soldiers have been killed in combat, while Israel says more than 100 Hamas fighters have died. Hundreds of rockets fired into Israel over the past 12 days have killed four people and wounded dozens.”

According to the leading Israeli newspaper Haaretz (January 7, 2009: http://www.haaretz.com/hasen/spages... ): “Four Israel Defense Forces soldiers, who were killed in two separate incidents in the Gaza Strip on Monday, appear to have been killed by friendly fire, according to initial military investigations.”

However the “Palestinians killed by Israelis”/”Israelis killed by Palestinians” “death ratio” of 117 actually UNDERSTATES the reality.
Thus the “excuse” given by Apartheid Israel for the Gaza Massacre is the firing of rockets and mortars from Gaza that have killed 4 Israelis since December 27, 2008. Accordingly the current “Palestinians killed by Israelis”/”Israeli Gaza missile deaths” “death ratio is 702/4 = 176, about EIGHTEEN TIMES greater than Hitler’s recommended “reprisals death ratio” of 10.

Further, ignoring the adult Palestinians killed by Apartheid Israel in the last fortnight, the “Palestinian Children killed by Israelis”/ “Israeli killed by Gaza missiles” = 220/4 = 55, about SIX TIMES greater than Hitler’s recommended “reprisals death ratio” of 10.

However this latter estimate ignores the longer-term consequences of massive urban devastation on “non-violent avoidable deaths” in the Gaza Concentration Camp. Thus in the ongoing Iraqi Genocide “post-invasion VIOLENT excess deaths” total about 1 million (as assessed by top US medical epidemiologists from the prestigious American Johns Hopkins and Columbia Universities), roughly the same as “post-invasion VIOLENT excess deaths” due deprivation (principally from devastation and failure of war criminal Occupiers to provide food and medical requisites unequivocally demanded of Occupiers by the Geneva Convention: http://www.unhchr.ch/html/menu3/b/92.htm ).

Adding the 702 Palestinians killed since then, the Palestinians killed by Israelis from September 2000 to 8 January 2009 total 5,528. With an average Occupied Palestinian Territory population in this period of 3.762 million (see: http://esa.un.org/unpp/p2k0data.asp ) this amounts to an “annual homicide rate” (Palestinians killed by Israelis) of 178 per million per year, or 178/21.4 = 8.3 i.e. EIGHT (8) TIMES “annual homicide rate” of Israelis killed by Palestinians.

The crude post-September 2000 “death ratio” of Palestinians (average population 3.762 million)/Israelis (average population 6.692 million) = 5,528/1,182 = 4.7 i.e. about 5.

However this estimate of Palestinian deaths since September 2000 does not take into account the NON-VIOLENT avoidable deaths (excess deaths, deaths that did not have to happen) due to gross Israeli violation of the Geneva Conventions that demand unequivocally that the Occupier must preserve the health and lives of its Conquered Subjects through provision life-sustaining food and medical requisites “to the fullest extent of the means available to it” (see Articles 55 and 56 of the Geneva Convention relative to the Protection of Civilian Persons in Time of War: http://www.unhchr.ch/html/menu3/b/92.htm ).

With an average Occupied Palestinian Territory population in this period of 3.762 million (see: http://esa.un.org/unpp/p2k0data.asp ) this amounts to an “annual homicide rate” (Palestinians PASSIVELY killed by Israeli Occupiers) of 35,360 deaths/3.762 million = 1,139 per million per year.

Accordingly, one can estimate that the “total annual ACTIVE and PASSIVE killing of Occupied Palestinians” since September 2000 of 35,360 non-violent deaths + 5,528 violent deaths = 40,888 deaths, this corresponding to an “annual active and passive homicide rate” of 40,888 deaths/ 3.762 million Occupied Palestinians over 8.25 years = 1,317 deaths per million per year or 1,317/21.4 = 61.5 i.e. SIXTY TWO (62) TIMES the “annual homicide rate” (Israelis killed by Palestinians) of 21.4 per million per year.

Avoidable deaths (defined as the difference between actual deaths and deaths expected for a decently governed country with the same demographics) is ZERO (0) for the State of Israel (see: “Body Count. The World must STOP the US-backed Israeli mass murder of Occupied Palestinians. The active and passive killing must stop NOW.
