US and British pilots whose bombs killed Iraqi civilians were murderers, and actions taken by those two countries during the invasion and occupation of Iraq amounted to terrorism, former Malaysian prime minister Mahathir Mohamad has said.
Several British and US diplomats walked out in protest of Mahathir’s broadside against their countries in a speech at a national conference in Kuala Lumpur on human rights on Friday. Mahathir, who (…) -

In a way, it’s amusing.
Watching the Bush cabinet, sycophants and True Believers scurry madly to explain that Bush is not to blame for ANYTHING. It seems that the main object of the post-Katrina government effort is not to succor the victims, drain the water, or rebuild the city but to refurbish the image of immortal leader George W. Bush which has been tarnished by the fecal waters of the Gulf.
All efforts are made to (…) -

Israel has authorized construction of 117 homes in one of the West Bank’s largest settlements and approved preliminary plans for another 3,000 housing units there, officials said Tuesday.
The decision came despite repeated U.S. appeals that Israel freeze settlement expansion and threatened to raise tensions with the United States just days before Prime Minister Ariel Sharon travels to New York to address the U.N. General Assembly. He is expected to meet with (…) -

Oil exports from Iraq’s northern fields were completely halted on Saturday following a rebel attack on a major pipeline west of the oil centre of Kirkuk, an Iraqi oil industry official said.
"We have some interruption in the pipeline. There are no exports at all right now," the official said on condition of anonymity.
He said he had "no idea" when exports might resume since the scale of the damage had not yet been assessed.
An official in charge of oil installation protection said the (…) -

WASHINGTON, D.C. — (OfficialWire) — 09/04/05 — In the words of Gomer Pyle-Surprise, Surprise, Surprise. Just Google the name [Safia Taleb al-Suhail] for news and you will discover that very few members, if any, of the so-called mainstream media consider this lady’s most recent quote newsworthy and frankly, that’s newsworthy to me.
You may recall her-she was the Iraqi woman George W. Bush exploited (…) -

A minor rant in the aftermath of Katrina
September 4, 2005
Coincidence? Just before the Twin Towers attack George W. Bush was on vacation, getting on with his life, cutting brush on his ranch. After the attack Bush was reading a kid’s book, got on a plane, headed for a bunker, then later stood on rubble with his arm around a fireman. For the next 2 years he made speeches about his heroic action in failing to recognize that terrorists would strike (…)
