Incinerating Iraqis: The Napalm Cover-Up
28 June 2005 par (Open-Publishing)
3 comments"You smell that? Do you smell that? Napalm, son. Nothing else in the world smells like that. I love the smell of napalm in the morning. You know, one time we had a hill bombed, for twelve hours. When it was all over I walked up. We didn’t find one of ’em, not one stinkin’ dink body. The smell, you know that gasoline smell, the whole hill. Smelled like... victory."

1 commentThe hall is abuzz with the thrill of full-page spreads on the front page of every newspaper in Istanbul, and the woman next to me smiles that we are also on the BBC. The bank of cameras and the swarm of photographers have filled the room again this morning. Still absent is any sign of the US media, except the cameras of Deep Dish TV. The website got 15,000 hits from more than 100 countries. As the spokesperson for the Jury of Conscience, Arundhati Roy said earlier in the week, "This is what (…)

The War Before The War: MORE DETAILED ANALYSES
28 June 2005 par (Open-Publishing)
I came across this report, from a few days ago, on a Google search. It is very detailed in it’s analyses of what definitely appears to be illegal aggression by the U.S. against Iraq BEFORE THE U.N. RESOLUTION IN NOVEMBER AND BEFORE CONGRESSIONAL APPROVAL.
Excerpts from...

7 commentsWASHINGTON: A top US army procurement official said today Halliburton’s deals in Iraq were the worst example of contract abuse she had seen as Pentagon auditors flagged over $US1 billion ($NZ1.42 billion) of potential overcharges by the Texas-based firm.
Bunny Greenhouse, the Army Corps of Engineers’ top contracting official-turned whistle-blower, said in testimony at a hearing by Democrats on Capitol Hill that "every aspect" of Halliburton’s oil contract in Iraq had been under the control (…) -
Take No Prisoners - The Fatal Shooting of Palestinians by Israeli Forces During Arrest Operations
28 June 2005 par (Open-Publishing)
1 commentDuring the second intifada, Israel formally adopted a policy of assassinating Palestinians suspected of membership in armed organizations waging battle against it. In an attempt to counter the sharp criticism against this policy, Israel argued, among other things, that targeted assassinations were only carried out when it was unable to apprehend the persons targeted for assassination.
According to B’Tselem’s figures, since the beginning of 2004, Israelis security forces have killed (…) -

The Sunday Times
THE American general who commanded allied air forces during the Iraq war appears to have admitted in a briefing to American and British officers that coalition aircraft waged a secret air war against Iraq from the middle of 2002, nine months before the invasion began.
The nine months of allied raids "laid the foundations" for the allied victory, Moseley said. They ensured that (…) -

Former MI5 agent David Shayler, who previously blew the whistle on the British government paying Al Qaeda $200,000 to carry out political assassinations, has gone on the record with his conviction that 9/11 was an inside job meant to bring about a permanent state of emergency in America and pave the way for the invasions of Afghanistan, Iraq and ultimately Iran and Syria.
David Shayler joined MI5 in October (…) -
Abizaid: "Cost in Blood and Treasure" 2nd Lt.: "The War is Lost"
27 June 2005 par (Open-Publishing)
1 commentVice President Dick Cheney needs to talk to his generals more often. Michael Hedges of the Houston Chronicle reports that Gen. John Abizaid, who has recently consulted with US commanders in Iraq, said today that the guerrilla movement in Iraq is as strong now as it was 6 months ago. Dick Cheney recently said it was in its "last throes." If so, the throes appear likely to go on for decades. Abizaid, however, conveyed an unrealistic impression that the Iraqi forces will take over the heavy (…)
