Let’s get this straight, 60 Minutes lies and the Ray Gun kills: the truth about the Active Denial System
by Open-Publishing - Monday 9 June 2008http://www.chycho.com/?q=node/1737
The following is a CBS 60 Minutes segment on Pentagon’s latest torture weapon, a heat wave gun referred to as the Active Denial System (ADS).
Either the producers of this propaganda video, disguised as news, blatantly lied to the American public, or they are completely incompetent. I would like to rip this video apart and analysis it piece-by-piece but I will refrain from doing so and will try to remain focused on the main topic.
ADS, the Ray Gun, is a lethal weapon. As Dave Gaubatz, the first Federal Agent (civilian) to enter Iraq in 2003 states:
* The Pentagon has had an operational ‘Ray Gun’ since early in 2003. The Ray Gun was designed to be a lethal weapon. It can kill, injure the person very badly, or just slightly depending on the setting of the mechanisms. If they want to show the ‘Ray gun’ to news media and some politicians who advocate non-lethal weapons, and are usually the same politicians who have advocated getting our troops out of Iraq months before they were even sent there, they bring in a journalist and ‘feed’ him/her the non-lethal story. Otherwise know as liberals who know less about the Ray Gun than they do basic fundamentals of war.
Exactly who is Dave Gaubatz? He is the person that 60 Minutes Producer Mary Walsh contacted to discuss the allegations pertaining to the false and very inaccurate report produced by the station. As Gaubatz states:
* She (Mary Walsh) asked for documentation to prove my knowledge of the system and why their report is false. I provided the documentation. She wrote back and wanted to know why the Pentagon had lied to her. I essentially informed Ms. Walsh that she should ask them since it has hurt the credibility of her and the 60 Minutes staff. Readers can view the documents on my site at www.kidsandterrorism.com…;
* The Pentagon officials have intentionally lied. Again the breakthrough was made in 2002/2003, at Kirtland AFB, NM... The Pentagon official says this weapon can’t kill. This mystical Pentagon official purposely did not reveal his name, because he knows there are people like me who know the truth. The American public were simply lied to. The Ray Gun was designed at the AFRL/DE facility, Kirtland AFB, NM, was/is operational, and can kill… AFRL/DE (Directed Energy) does not spend millions of dollars and have the worlds leading scientists develop a weapon that can only ‘hurt’ an enemy of war. The brightest scientist assigned to Kirtland AFB design weapons that are lethal (otherwise known as a weapon that can actually kill).
How is it possible that 60 Minutes would omit this information? Is this what passes as journalism in the United States?
“This will be the ultimate torture weapon. Its purpose is to cause excruciating pain, but leave no evidence of wounds on the victim. Imagine this weapon at Abu Ghraib or Guantanamo. Imagine this weapon at your local precinct... Besides torture, this weapon can also be used for crowd control — a ray gun which could literally make blood boil. It is based on the same technology as a microwave oven. The human body is comprised mostly of water… think of the sensation of boiling blood. The purpose of this weapon system is to cause an unbearable level of pain so that the victim will submit to the will of the US military or police.”
“It is a bit like touching a red-hot wire, but there is no heat, only the sensation of heat. There is no burn mark or blister. Its makers claim this infernal machine is the modern face of warfare.”
“But it is a horrible device nonetheless, and you are forced to wonder what the world has come to when human ingenuity is pressed into service to make a thing like this… Built by the U.S. firm Raytheon, it is part of its ‘Directed Energy Solutions’ programme.
“What it amounts to is a way of making people run away, very fast, without killing or even permanently harming them. That is what the company says, anyway. The reality may turn out to be more horrific...
“There are more questions: in tests, volunteers have been asked to remove spectacles and contact lenses before being microwaved. Does this imply these rays are not as harmless as Raytheon insists? What happens when someone with a weak heart is zapped? And, perhaps most worryingly, what if deployment … causes mass panic, leaving some people unable to flee in the melee? Will they just be stuck there roasting?”
“Perhaps the most alarming prospect is that such machines would make efficient torture instruments. They are quick, clean, cheap, easy to use and, most importantly, leave no marks… The agony the Raytheon gun inflicts is probably equal to anything in a torture chamber - these waves are tuned to a frequency exactly designed to stimulate the pain nerves.”
This weapon is being marketed as if it were only going to be used against foreign enemies, but will in fact end up on America’s streets and be used primarily against citizens of the United States. Why else would they be showing protesters in a 60 Minutes video holding peace signs? Last time I checked, those in Afghanistan and Iraq protesting the US occupation were holding guns not peace signs.
Does the US military or America’s police force expect to use these so-called “non-lethal” weapons on American citizens protesting the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan? Or is it that they fear what Americans will do if they begin another war, possibly with Syria or Iran.
What I am anxious to know is if Americans in uniform are willing to fry their own people to maintain the status quo, and if Americans out of uniform will continue to support a rogue government?
