Wars and conflicts Governments USA
To Colonel James A. Adkins US Army Retired,
I want to commend you as I read your comments concerning Pres. Bush: “I am no longer a Republican. Now I think the president needs to go. His failure to hold subordinates accountable now places the blame for his administration’s incompetence squarely on his shoulders” At this point the handling of this war transcends party lines. I am a Democrat where I was and still am opposed to this war in Iraq. I feel that this is an American issue and where all Americans must demand accountability from Pres. Bush. But, it seems to me that this president refuses to be held accountable for any infraction that subverts our United States Constitution.
In your statement to Chris Matthew: “Most Americans understand that we are in a mess over there and most are angry that we were misled, and I think many of us believe the President was misled as well.” I will go you one better, Colonel Adkins since many like me believe that Bush lied to this nation. He has lied on so many occasions where I feel he is unable to tell the difference between a lie and the truth. That is a pathological in nature and a psychological deficit on his part. America deserves better.
You also stated to Chris Matthews where Bush should: “Fire Rumsfeld and anyone else associated with getting us in this mess.” I fully agree. When you said of Pres. Bush and his loyalty to his people: “he has a responsibility to the American people to lead.” Yes, he does, and time after time, he has failed all of us. He has failed the men and women who were sent off to Iraq only to come home in coffins. He has failed their family members who must go on without them. He has also failed America by forfeiting the moral high ground when the end result was the slaughter of tens of thousands of innocent Iraqis. These innocent Iraqis were not responsible for the terrorist attacks on this nation.
But, getting back to your original statement when you said of Bush: “Now I think the president needs to go” again, I will go you one better. He needs to be impeached and must be tried for treason. I have read the Downing Street Memo where it states that Bush fixed the intelligence to meet his wanton desire to go to war with Iraq, where he has used illegal wire taps on innocent Americans and this latest fiasco where the identity of a CIA operative leads directly to his door.
In closing, I will be working along side of my fellow Democrats to make sure that we do take back both houses in the upcoming 2006 mid-term elections. By accomplishing that, we then have the power to start these impeachment proceedings. This must be done in order to save this republic. Should we fail in this mission, America will truly fall. America is truly in distress and it is incumbent upon all patriots to save her.
Sincerely,
Mary MacElveen

Although I am glad that more retired military officers are coming out and publicly denouncing this President’s catastrophic foreign policy, I cannot help but think ’where were these people two years ago when their opinions would have carried so much more force than they do now, like so many Johnny come latelies to a wake’? Is it because that this President’s lost popularity will never be regained? Is it because it appears safe to speak out against this President and his policies now that so many have jumped off his band wagon? What ever happened to real courage, speaking what you really feel, come hell or high water? What ever happened to real courage, moral courage, the kind of courage that isn’t afraid of being humiliated by the masses so long as the truth is known from every rooftop, every mountain? That kind of courage is a scarce today is it was 2000 years ago, sad to say.
Colonel Adkins displays a great flaw found in most American military leaders of today: misguided loyalty. Their loyalty above all else should be to the Constitution of the United States and the people whose liberty it was designed to protect, and not to a demented President who publicly cannot distinguish the truth from a falsehood. I say publicly since I believe Mr. Bush knows quite well the ocean of lies, corruption and lawlessness he has personally created, an ocean of waste & despair that has grown exponentially every year since he has been in office; a Sea of Sewage that has grown so vast no one in the entire media or web can keep track of. Mr. Bush is not the mindless puppet so many analysts believe him to be. He is no Caesar, no Napoleon, that’s for sure, I am not calling him a brainiac, but he is definitely not a Gomer Pyle either. After all, Mr. Bush has an extensive cadre including such powerful goons like Alito, Gonzalez and Bolton who do a lot of this sewage tracking for him; keeping him posted on every turd’s progress, on every bit of poisonous flotsam he has managed to spew to the people of the United States .
Both Mary MacElveen and and Col. Adkins cut Mr. Bush way too much slack. The American people should not make Mr. Bush into some kind of poster child for the ’reality challenged’, this year’s victim of another pathological disorder, and simply ask for his resignation. Mr. Bush’s pathological lying is a pattern of behavior one can find in any Mob boss, used car salesman or pimp. Are we supposed to feel sorry for parasites such as these as well, or does being accountable for one’s actions mean anything anymore in this sad, pathetic country that used to be great?

To BOTH these replies are WRONG! While the one below is partially right, about Bush not being so innocent in all of these, BOTH are TOTALLY missing the point! It is NOT "incompetence" on the part of PURE EVIL BUSH nor his PURE EVIL REGIME BUT BY DESIGN! ALL THIS BUSHIT BY HIM AND THEM ARE BY DESIGN,SHEEP! AND TO DEMAND THEY RESIGN IS LETTING THEM OFF THE HOOK BIG TIME! They ALL need arresting IMMEDIATELY by U.S. troops for TREASON, WAR CRIMES AND WAR PROFITEERING AND SOME IN CONGRESS AS WELL! IF they resign, we the taxpayers, STILL fund their Goddamn pensions, and healthcare which needs to be STOPPED and NOW for all their involvement in lying to American’s to take us to war, NOT ONLY in war on Iraq but NOW in Iran was well as they are planning for as we speak! But involvement in 9-11 as well! They need to be tortured like they tortured innocent people including an innocent 10 year old kid in Gitmo! Sick bastards! Now Rummie ordered detainee to have women’s underwear on head, etc. These MF’ers are PURE EVIL! ALL OF THEM! AND STOP CUTTING BUSH SO GODDAMN MUCH SLACK! HE IS PURE EVIL AS WELL! His damn "stupid me" act is JUST THAT, AN ACT, so he gets by with LITERALLY MASS MURDER, AND WAR CRIMES AND CRIMES AGAINST HUMANITY! HE IS HITLER NO.2, SHEEP! AND WORSE! BECAUSE HE HAS A BIGGER ARSENAL OF WORSE WEAPONS! aND where in HELL are the Patriotic Military at, who took an OATH OF OFFICE to defend our Constitution and our nation NOT TO PROTECT THESE PURE EVIL FASCIST, MF’ERS WHO ARE LITERALLY DESTROYING AMERICA FROM WITHIN? WHERE ARE THEY AT? General Pace SUCKS and defends Rummie, instead of defending our Constitution and America’s REAL values, while our troops die needlessly over lies, lies and more lies in Iraq, yet he doesn’t say to pull our troops out of Iraq, nor try to STOP needless attacks on Iran? Come on sheep! Where in HELL are the TRUE PATRIOTS IN AMERICA AT, TO STOP ALL THIS BUSHIT? WE DESPERATELY NEED V’S FOR VENDETTA AND NOW! AND ALOT OF THEM! I thought there was SOME hope for General Pace but I see I was WRONG! He SUCKS TOO! And is lapdog for Rummie and rest!
