My November dreams have become restless nightmares now, as I toss and turn unable to find rest. Night figures haunt me, walking alone and in groups alone in the shadows, yet even through the darkness I can see their faces. Pale and gaunt, tight with anxiety, thin with hunger, steel eyes looking nowhere and everywhere. Looking back over their shoulders towards the future, like looking for yesterday to find tomorrow as they walk away slowly into the distance.

Video: Over 50 Anti-Torture Activists Arrested at White House Protest

On Thursday, April 30, 2009, in a massive act of non-violent “Civil Resistance” over 50 activists were arrested at a protest action in front of the White House. The protesters refused to move from the sidewalk when ordered to so by the police. In 05 September 2006 a group of workers and union leaders staged a protest against the carrier Camila, a contractor to SIDOR (Siderurgic of the Orinoco), the principal steel core business located in Puerto Ordaz, Bolivar state, in Venezuela. The workers were protesting the failure to pay wages, and maintain health and safety, as well as the lack of tools to accomplish their work.
