Wars and conflicts International Governments USA

Seems like the current President is taking a page out of Emperor Nero’s book from nearly 2,000 years ago (64 A.D.).

You see, in 64 A.D. Rome experienced a major fire throught the city under Nero’s watch. Some say he had the city set ablaze.

What do you know, there were many ambitious reconstruction projects started soon after this fire.

What was Nero doing? Performing on stage, much to the chagrin of artists and citizens alike.

But then, in the year 68 A.D. the man committed suicide. He brought his ruin down upon himself.

Just something to ponder. I also heard on the radio that one way to truly help the uprooted from the Gulf Coast was to send $$$ to buy books for schoolkids.

Not everyone thought he should be there:

I’m guessing that Monday, Aug. 29, 2005, will not be remembered as the day President George W. Bush stopped by a retirement community in El Mirage to discuss prescription drug benefits for seniors.

     He got guitar lessons:

President Bush plays a guitar presented to him by Country Singer Mark Wills, right, backstage following his visit to Naval Base Coronado, Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2005.

Via ThinkProgress he slept peacefully on his "ranch":

Following his speech at the naval base to commemmorate the 60th anniversary of the Allied victory in World War II, the President will fly to his ranch in Crawford, Tx. before returning to Washington on Wednesday morning.

Thousands of Americans were suffering while Bush goofed around. What a disgrace.

and on the BBC Lt. Commander Sean Kelly said, "We had things ready. The only caveat is, we have to wait until the President authorizes us to do so. The laws of the United States say that the military can’t just act in this fashion, we have to wait for the President to give us permission."

Thousands of suffering citizens could have received aid, but they were waiting for goofball to give the word, but he was too busy clowning around? This is criminal!
